The Dyness Mini is a Group 24 Bluetooth LiFePO4 trolling motor battery priced at $195, with a larger Group 31 version available at $167. It delivered 103.5Ah with an internal resistance of 3.17 mOhm. After 15 minutes at 100 amps the BMS peaked at 55 degrees Celsius with no hotspots, and the internal build quality looks solid.
The Bluetooth app has the best range seen across all batteries tested on this channel and doesn't lose connection. Individual cell voltages are visible, but there is no balancing indicator and that missing detail led to the most important finding in this review.
This battery only balances while charging current is above 1 amp. The moment it drops into absorption, balancing stops. The balance resistor works out to 100mA of balancing current, which is good, but a balancer that shuts off exactly when it is needed most is effectively useless. It is a configurable BMS setting, and there is no good reason to leave it disabled.
For that reason i do not recommend this battery.
