I started filming the whole process at about the moment when everything could be put back together. How Were Building A BMW E36 Touring Car Retroschaft 2022-10-11 | In 1994, BMW won the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps with the mighty E36 318is. It set the tone for what would become a dominant decade for BMW at the Spa 24 Hours, winning 5 out of the 10 races in the 1990s. A BMW E36 grabbed its first victory in 1994 and low and behold, it was a 318is who took home the trophy. The M42 BMW put in their 318is road cars from the E30 to the E36 was the basis for the (2.0l) S42 Race Engine which they used in their Touring Cars. All of this inspired us to make our own recreation and interpretation of a 1994 24 Hours Race Winner. Building a 1994 24Hr Endurance Race Winner | BMW E36 318IS Retroschaft 2022-09-08 | For as long as we can remember, we have been obsessing over the idea of one day being able to build a real race car. Gutting the interior, installing bucket seats with harness seatbelts, stiffening the suspension, power-tuning an engine, you name it. In 2022, we finally set out to make this obsession a reality. Our starting point is a 1994 BMW E36 318IS, for a number of reasons. First of all, it is fairly attainable. You don't need big budgets to buy, modify or maintain an E36, and we won't feel bad about gutting it because the 318IS is often overlooked anyway and we're probably doing it a favour, by building into a proper enthusiast machine. The second, and most important reason, is that the 318IS was the basis of what later became the 320i race car that would win countless races and put the E36 on the map as an immensely succesful touring car. A 318IS four door is the closest you can get to that infamous 320i, and in this series, we'll see our bonestock E36, slowly transform into the actual 1994 racecar it was meant to represent when rolling out of the BMW factory. New Grand Stand At Spa-Francorchamps: Horrible or Fantastic? Retroschaft 2022-06-07 | The circuit of Spa-Francorchamps has changed a lot in the past few years. When they wanted to attract the FIA World Rallycross Championship, the old pitboxes and grand stands to the left of the track that leads up to the Raidillon, were removed. About a year ago, our social media news feeds were suddenly flooded with images of further so called 'improvements' that were in the works for the Belgian Race Track. Next to adding gravel traps for Moto GP, the entire grand stand infrastructure next to Eau-Rouge would be demolished and rebuilt. Everyone was skeptical, and today we're finding out wether that skepticism was necessary, or whether the governing body of Spa-Francorchamps made the right call. We Found A Gran Turismo 4 Legend! Retroschaft 2022-03-01 | Autoworld in Brussels is home to the many original Belgian car manufacturers that once were. A great part of the museum/expo building is dedicated to a permanent display of Belgium-made cars and the story of the country's automotive industry. It is also host to a constant stream of themed expositions that each run for a few months. In this video we visit the 100 Years of Spa-Francorchamps expo, filled with cars that were significant for the circuit's legendary history. Next to the 100 Years of Spa expo was another one called "Supercar Story", showcasing the most relevant and greatest super cars ever made. While it certainly featured some great cars, we were there for the many touring, F1 and other race cars that had a story or two to tell from their racing days. In the end, we spent 2 - 3 hours looking at and filming the Spa-Francorchamps expo that we ran short on time to decently show you around the other expo as well.We hope you liked the video!
