// Alex says // --------------------- I played DELTARUNE with Jordi the day it came out, and we had a lot of fun. That's why we decided that we wanted to make our own version of the Ending Theme, thus we made all of this in one day! It was a blast, as it's such a sweet and beautiful song. It's always a pleasure to work with Jordi too. I hope you enjoy our take on the piece, and that you go check out DELTARUNE if you haven't already!
// Jordi Says // ---------------------- Hey guys! So, this our first official arrangement project under the name of Phoenix Up. We've collaborated before in the past quite a few times, but we wanted to make our venture more official as we really enjoy working together.
After following Toby's cryptic Tweets and downloading DELTARUNE, I was immediately captivated and had no idea I was entering into UNDERTALE 2.0. I've not yet finished playing all the way through, but of course I'm gonna hit that soundtrack link on Bandcamp as soon as it comes out and lo and behold, there's a Laura track as the Ending Theme! As a long-time fan of To The Moon, Rakuen and Laura's work in general, I just had to cover this as soon as I could.
Welcome to our new channel and I hope you enjoy! If you like it, feel free to share it. As of writing, we have a grand total of 0 subscribers, so it'll help get our music out there a little! ^_^

DELTARUNE ~ Dont Forget (Male Version)Phoenix Up2018-11-03 | A male vocal and piano cover of “Don’t Forget” from Toby Fox’s DELTARUNE, the sequel to UNDERTALE, composed by Laura Shigihara (supershigi)!

Crystal snow, winter glow Bitter winds cut through me Ice of glass, hidden paths Frozen life surrounds me
Areyai yaleai yareaiyo Areyai yaleai yareaiyo
Though the snow falls, light still shines through Reflecting the past, revealing a path Even through this crystal winter, there is room for crimson warmth Though these heavy snows fall on me, I will walk into the storm
Araye alaye Yarae iya

This is an interesting one! Crystal Winter was a half composition, half improvisation recorded by me (Shadow Dreamer), a few years ago. It remained untouched on my computer, but eventually Jordi heard it and decided to add his vocals. You might think that summer is a weird season to upload a song about winter, but that is also when one misses winter the most! Aptly, Jordi added his singing to the piano during the summer of 2019.
Fast forward to February of 2021, in the midst of winter. Jordi and I went to my cabin to record some footage for another video, and we ended up shooting for this collaboration of ours as well. After that, our lives got pretty busy, and we didn't have time to edit this video. Mainly, I wanted to put together a time-lapse of the sunrise, since I've always loved to see it in person. We were finally able to finish this video, and what better time to upload it than now, when snow is nowhere to be found, at least here in Finland!
Enjoy! ~Phoenix Up

// Jordi says // ---------------------- Hello! We're happy to present to you a special track for Materia Collective's latest community album. Final Fantasy IX for me was the game that really inspired me to create the music that I create today. It was my first introduction to the series of Final Fantasy and Nobuo Uematsu's music, and Unforgettable Sorrow was one of my favourite tracks from the original game.
We had the chance to work with many amazingly talented musicians to bring this arrangement to life, and I'm happy I could co-produce a track for a Materia Collective album with Alex! I reworked some lyrics I had written for this song when I was 14 years old, so this arrangement is really special to me.
I totally recommend you guys check out the rest of the album if you enjoy the music from Final Fantasy IX! Pixel Mixers also released a free album of amazing Final Fantasy IX covers too - what a treat for FFIX fans! :)
// Alex says // --------------------- It was wonderful to take part in the creation of EIDOLON. I've loved Final Fantasy music for as long as I can remember, and to collaborate with such talented people is an honour. Many thanks to all others who participated, as well as to all of you for listening. I hope you enjoy our work!

// Jordi Says // ---------------------- Hey you guys! Thanks for watching. In anticipation of our trip to Japan, we decided to arrange, perhaps my favourite song, Haru Yo, Koi! I've loved this song for a long time and I made an arrangement of it quite some years back, but wanted to approach it a bit differently this time around.
Alex learned the song and arranged it for piano in just a little more than an hour, and we got a piano take the first time recording fully. I recorded the vocals right up until we had to leave to get the bus to Helsinki the night before our flight, but we really wanted to get the parts done so that we could upload it whilst in Japan.
Other than the piano video where we decorated Alex's room with flowers and plants, the rest of the footage was filmed at the beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen National Park in Tokyo. It felt right that for a song like this, the visuals should match it well. We just had a phone camera to use to record the footage, and the rain proved a little difficult to film in, but totally worth getting wet for and fitting to the song itself.
I truly hope you enjoy listening to our arrangement as much as we enjoyed creating it!
// Alex says // --------------------- Hi! I've listened to Jordi play 'Haru Yo, Koi' on his phone many times, so when he asked for us to make a cover, I was up for it! It is such a beautiful piece, with a great piano arrangement. Of course, we wanted our version to be a bit different from the original, so we gave it our own touch. We only had so much time to record the arrangement, and we made it just in time for our trip! Right now, we ourselves are having fun exploring Japan.
Thank you for listening! Hopefully you'll enjoy this little Japanese treat.

// Jordi Says // ---------------------- Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I'm back in Finland visiting Alex and while at the university, we took the opportunity to hijack the auditorium and its resident Steinway grand piano. We took twenty minutes or so to decide how we would arrange this incredible piece, taking our favourite parts from the original game soundtrack version, the orchestral version, the Ending Theme, and of course weaving in the Final Fantasy Prelude in the outro (which was Alex's idea!)
I've been a little ill for a while so my voice isn't 100% in this performance, but I hope I managed to convey the emotion I felt while performing this song nonetheless. This song never fails to give me goosebumps; my hands were shaking through the whole thing. It's one of those rare compositions that just seems to coarse its way through your whole body as you listen to it.
Hope you're all having a wonderful holiday so far!
// Alex says // --------------------- Hi! Jordi said more or less everything that I wanted to say about this arrangement. I would however, like to thank my university, Åbo Akademi, in Vaasa, for letting us borrow their Steinway, in the auditorium. I hope you enjoy our performance, and may you have Happy Holidays!
