Freightliner M2 Pac Tech Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2024-06-12 | Mr. James Rice knocking out some trash in what was at the time, a new addition to Vierkant’s fleet. James kept a great pace especially given the dense area, which made this really fun to film. The fast & efficient Perkins tipper was also really fun to watch in my opinion. The summer road work in Edina also added some interesting aspects to the video. Aside from the pavement on the streets not being present, every company runs their trucks in this area before 7am in order to get everything collected before construction blocks the roads. Fast PSDS Mcneilus ZR Side Loader HunterDawg 89 2024-05-22 | A super basic truck, but this driver was hauling ass so I had to get some footage. Also happened to be collecting a pretty unique historic area of Palm Springs that made for some neat scenery. Western Star New Way King Cobra Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2024-04-24 | One of 2 brand new Western Stars Southern Sanitation acquired recently. Upon learning about these, I made it a priority to set out to catch one. It took a little while, but I did manage to find one running in open market Walton County. These trucks are suuuuuper awesome looking. They spec’d them out with New Way King Cobra RLs that are outfitted with dual barker tippers. Aside from the unusually low RPM cutout on the PTO, these trucks are very fast and productive. Luckily I was able to find a speedy and friendly crew on top of everything. Overall this was an awesome experience and I’m glad I was able to catch one despite having 0 route information. Enjoy!Thanks to the awesome crew!
Mack LR Heil RevAMP Side Loader HunterDawg 89 2024-04-11 | Recently I had to opportunity to film Heil’s newest ASL to hit the market. The Heil RevAMP is an all electric body. The RevAMP is hydraulic free aside from the 2 small cylinders for the tailgate. While running it, a few small hiccups were encountered, but it still did well. Both drivers that used it liked it which is pretty uncommon for drivers jumping into something that isn’t their truck. Overall I was pretty impressed by the RevAMP. Heil has big plans for this arm and body in the future and I’m excited to see what they will do with it. Enjoy! Thanks to everyone at Heil & CES for making this possible.
Northside Hauling New Way King Cobra Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2024-03-26 | One of Northside Hauling’s Freightliner M2 King Cobras knocking out some heavy trash. The steady action and 3 man crew made this worth grabbing a full video for me. So satisfying to watch the Minneapolis style trucks collect some heavy routes with many houses having 2+ 90s for trash. Despite these set outs, the Minneapolis system still proves superior by making quick work of these densely packed alleys. One more thing to note is the odd axle spec to comply with weight regulations. Pretty neat to see a truck that normally is a standard dual axle spec’d out differently.Enjoy! Thanks to the crew.
Fast Revving Dennis New Way Sidewinder HunterDawg 89 2024-03-12 | Kris flying through his 2nd load in his current regular truck. I have a video of this truck on my channel, however that video was with a different driver & in a different city. Despite many peoples comments about the size of the cab, as you can see this truck handles cul de sacs amazingly & better than a lot of regular cabovers. Garbage Trucks Cleaning Up Mardi Gras HunterDawg 89 2024-02-20 | After seeing pictures over the last few years of the absurd amount of trash left behind after Mardi Gras celebrations in the French quarter of New Orleans, I decided this year I would drive out and catch it on film. I arrived the night before and walked around to see the masses of people partying on bourbon street. Upon seeing how packed the French quarter was, I knew the next morning was gonna be just as heavy as I had hoped. And sure enough as I walked from my hotel to bourbon street at 3:30 the next morning, I saw some of the biggest & messiest piles of trash I had ever seen. Shortly after arriving, I commenced filming the companies handling their stops. I spent most of my time following the 2 IV CCC Heil 5000s, and the 2 MRU 5000s they switched into after packing out their respective trucks. You can also see some River Parish Heil Pythons, A Waste Connections Mcneilus, A Ramelli Mcneilus, & a clip of the litter cleanup operation. Everything was filmed on bourbon street or a side street. Fast Autocar ACX Amrep FL Revving Hard HunterDawg 89 2024-02-09 | A wonderful example of SoCal style commercial collection. The norm for the area is commercial containers on casters that require being rolled to the truck for collection, opposed to every business having a container inside a enclosure that needs to be “stabbed” like on the east coast. The driver & his swamper work together to make quick work of these “pullouts” making the process much faster and more efficient than the typical solo driver emptying a massive 8 yard container I am used to back home. The truck featured is a pretty typical SoCal front loader. However, the driver is using a trick to bypass the RPM limiter to be able to rev the truck higher than 1500 RPMs. This was pretty fun to watch and made a pretty standard truck incredibly fun to record.Despite the subpar weather this was filmed in, the fast pace the driver & swamper kept up made it all worth it in my opinion. Southern Sanitation Mcneilus M5 Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2024-01-23 | This weeks video features a unique truck I managed to find recently. The Mcneilus M5 is a pretty uncommon little truck, due to most companies opting towards a New Way Viper or Cobra RL for small truck applications. But lucky for me, Southern Sanitation owns a few of them and I happened to bump into one running recycling in Gwinnett County.Southern is one of only a handful of people in the Atlanta area to own one of these Mcneilus M5s. If I’m not mistaken, the original design of these was made by Norba, a foreign manufacturer. I was lucky to catch a great crew running the truck. Latham Home Sanitation CCC Heil Multipack HunterDawg 89 2024-01-16 | Here’s a unique truck in Latham’s fleet that I filmed about a year ago. Like most of their Multipacks, it has an ex Lexington KY body. However, this one has been removed from its original chassis and mounted on a brand new Crane Carrier/Battle Motors LET2. In addition to its brand new chassis, the arm is also a brand new Python arm. Since recording this, there have been a few more multipacks mounted up on new Crane Carriers like this one.This one was filmed in what was at the time their newest contract, the city of Grayson. New Way King Cobra Rear Loader Vs. Midtown Recycling HunterDawg 89 2023-12-26 | One of Atlanta’s Crane Carrier New Way King Cobras flying through a recycling route in Midtown. I really like the way the city spec’d these trucks. Folding doors for ease of entry/exit, 2 fast Barker tippers, and unique lights on the tailgate. Aside from the truck, Atlanta crews are known to be no nonsense crews, and this is no exception. All 3 people work together at a quick pace and knock out streets very fast. I particularly enjoy watching them knock out stops with 5-10 carts.Lots of Atlanta’s routes are heavy, but the midtown neighborhood is very dense with a mix of single family homes and multi family homes. As you can see, stops range from 1 cart, to 10. And each time they stop, they can service up to 5 homes at a time with how packed together the houses are. In addition, it’s also common to see extra cardboard out for collection. Starting around 7:30, this crew was just about packed out a little before 11am. Fast Mack LR Curotto Can Collecting Townhomes HunterDawg 89 2023-12-12 | Though these Mack LR Heils are pretty standard Republic trucks, I was lucky to catch one with a fast operator. In addition to being skilled & efficient, this townhome development was perfect for filming. Long straight streets with no mailboxes, parked cars, or trees to get in the shot. I was able to capture a few 10+ cart shots in this video which is usually very hard to do.Many many years ago, this driver used to be the helper on the back of a rear loader I would film. 3 years later, it was great to bump into him again. He is now a swing driver who can drive every truck in the fleet.Enjoy!
1997 Crane Carrier Leach 2RII Packmaster HunterDawg 89 2023-11-22 | One of the oldest trucks in Minneapolis still running in excellent shape. Seen here collecting a street side trash route. I do already have a video of this truck on yard waste, but when I stumbled upon it collecting trash this past summer I couldn’t pass up getting another video. Garbage Trucks of Unincorporated Gwinnett County HunterDawg 89 2023-11-07 | Today’s video is a special one. This is a compilation that I have been working on for over a year now. And finally after countless hours and hundreds of miles, it’s complete!This video shows a detailed look the fleets the 5 haulers that have zones of the Gwinnett county contract. Gwinnett county makes up a large chunk of the east Atlanta metro area. It is home to 948,505 people, 72% of which live in “unincorporated” areas that these 5 haulers service. That makes this a pretty massive contract. Gwinnett county is incredibly dense. Most of the county consists of areas thick with suburban neighborhoods. This layout makes it a no brainer for most of these companies to automate these heavy trash routes. With the immense density, an ASL can pickup pretty high numbers of carts per day. And with 96 gallon carts being the norm for trash, it is not unusual for an ASL in Gwinnett do up to 3 loads a day depending on the area. Recycle on the other hand, is still done by rear loaders for the entire county. While 64 gallon carts are optionally provided by haulers, tubs still make up about half of the recycle set outs overall. While many fleets have modernized in recent years, I still find this contract to be one of my favorites to poke around in. Fast Revving McNeilus ZR Side Loader HunterDawg 89 2023-10-25 | The McNeilus ZR is typically a truck you see ran at idle speed, more often than not also being ran using the “autodump” feature. However, this is no ordinary ZR. In typical SoCal fashion, this truck is being pushed to the max. The driver is giving it as much gas as you can without hitting the RMP cut out, while also maneuvering the arm skillfully between the tightly spaced carts in this dense neighborhood. This all made for a great show. Always fun to watch a truck that typically wouldn’t be “interesting” by YouTube trash truck enthusiast standards, defying the norms and being interesting and entertaining. Enjoy!
AAA Sanitation Fast New Way King Cobra HunterDawg 89 2023-10-11 | AAA Sanitation is a local company that has been featured on my channel before, but in the last year or so their fleet has received some updates including this new King Cobra and a few others just like it, as well as Cobras & Vipers that have the fast packers that are standard on new ones. I have always been a fan of the way AAA sets up their trucks with Barker tippers. As you can see, these tippers work wonderfully and make a big difference in efficiency compared to other tippers.I have been wanting to get some video of said trucks for a while now, and recently me and Will had the opportunity to do so.AAA has a lot of fast crews, this being no exception. This crew quickly moves through the route while still leaving everything nice and neat. City Of St.Petersburg Heil 7000 Side Loader HunterDawg 89 2023-09-20 | The first of many 7000s I encountered in St.Petersburg. This one was doing a pretty standard neighborhood. No 300s, no alleys, just carts at the curb. The uniformity of cart placement and the quick Heil 7000 arm with a driver who gives the truck a little gas make this a smooth process. It’s no wonder St.Petersburg went automated so long ago with neighborhoods like this that are ideal for automated trucks. Enjoy!
Chagnon Rear Loader With A Fast Crew HunterDawg 89 2023-09-06 | Canada is known for having some of the fastest rear load crews, and while recently visiting Montréal I got to see a perfect example of just that. I’m pretty stoked to have been able to film this!In many areas of Montréal, there is no space for carts or dumpsters leaving residents no option but to use bags or manual bins. These guys make it look easy throwing these bags around as if they were toys. But many of these bags are not as light as you’d think, Many bags are filled with literal drywall and construction debris. No matter what these guys leave nothing behind, taking furniture, construction materials, and anything else out on the curb for collection.The Chagnon Sprinter 25 keeps up well with the constant flow of trash being loaded into the hopper. Being able to cycle the packer quickly and while moving makes this truck perfect for the application. I would love to see more of these trucks in the US.I followed these guys for 2 hours before they packed out the truck and headed for the dump. Despite a slight language barrier, this was still one of the coolest crews I’ve ever had the chance to film. City Of Minneapolis Loadmaster Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2023-08-22 | Despite the many videos of Minneapolis’ unique rear loaders, few of them feature the trucks the city itself uses. On last years trip, I realized this and set aside some time to follow city trucks and get lengthy videos opposed to the few clips I had gotten before. The city trucks may use the same system as the independent contractors, but they are very different in their own way. The city trucks are far newer and faster than many of the ancient trucks the independent haulers use. The tippers move quickly, as does the packer. Add a little finesse, and these crews tear through the routes knocking out their daily 2 loads in record times. It is a RARE sight to see a city truck collecting trash, compost, or recycling after 12 on the dot.Aside from these trucks being well oiled machines, they’re also equipped with all the extra bells and whistles. Lights, broom & shovel holders, and most notably the speaker system that allows the driver to communicate with the helper. You can see it being used at 10:00. Speedy Mack LEU Bridgeport Side Loader HunterDawg 89 2023-08-09 | Todays video features truck 52 from Varner Brothers of Bakersfield CA. I was happy to catch this one, as I’ve always had a particular liking for this truck. It is the only LEU Bridgeport in their rather diverse fleet, but there are still many like it in the Central Valley.As you can see, Bakersfield is pretty well suited for automated collection. Everyone’s cans are neatly lined up on the curb, the streets are wide, and for the most part the neighborhoods are a very simple layout making it easy for an automated truck to do minimal T turns and never pass already collected carts. With the green waste and recycling being collected on a different day, this driver doesn’t have to worry about any other carts in his way either. All these conditions make it easy for an average ASL to move quickly and smoothly through the route as you can see here. As a result of SB1383, all the trash companies in Bakersfield have switched from the tan carts for trash to the new required grey/black for trash. In just a year or so, many carts have already been replaced with new grey carts. Sad to see them switch, but that’s California for ya.This was a fun one to film, hope y’all enjoy as much as I did!
Heil 5000 Rear Loader With A Fast Crew HunterDawg 89 2023-07-26 | One of 2 International Heil 5000s SWS owns. This thing is not a good truck by any means, as it literally broke down 3 separate times this day on its first day back from being at the shop for months. Internationals…However, Carter and Luke still were able to move quickly through this dense Eden Prairie trash route. This video showcases a great example of driver/helper communication. Will’s Waste Wayne MSL HunterDawg 89 2023-07-04 | Forsyth County is home to many micro haulers that use a variety of equipment to earn their keep. From suburbans with trailers that bags are loaded onto and manually offloaded at the dump, to smaller rear loaders that are in various conditions. However, this is not like the other companies. Owned by Will’s Waste, this tiny Wayne MSL has a slick, professional paint job with all the extra catchy lights to go with it. Upon the arrival of this truck a while back, I knew I wanted to see it for myself. Thankfully I just so happen to be friends with the owner so making this possible was easy!Will’s Waste is new to the area but is already racking up stops in the area. If he keeps it up, Will might need to upgrade into a larger rear loader to keep up with growth. Without further ado, enjoy Will’s Waste in action!Thanks to the driver! Waste Management of Winder GA HunterDawg 89 2023-06-21 | Since WM is losing the city of Winder in a matter of days, I headed out one last time to get some footage of WMs operations. I found all 3 trucks and got a few clips of each for this video. It is sad to see WM go, and this will essentially be the end of residential collection for the Homer yard. Where the trucks will be sent it to be determined. Most of these guys told me they’re going to move to front load, roll off, or a mix of both.The trucks in winder are not as wild and odd as they used to be, but the ex AD truck from Columbia is certainty an odd ball. The other rear loader that used to do trash got replaced by the new Python you can see in the end of the video.As you can see, they’ve given up on recycling and every truck just openly mixes everything. The low participation rate and high contamination rate lead them to make this decision. And I don’t think the new contract even includes recycling. Enjoy some of the last footage I have of WM Winder! Autocar DC64 Loadmaster Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2023-06-06 | As seen in the compilation I previously posted, here is more footage of one of 2 Autocar DC64s currently owned by JGS. Upon hearing about their arrival, I made plans to catch one on my next trip to Columbia. A few weeks later I did just that. Certainly wasn’t collecting the most charming or scenic neighborhood but I did walk away with a video I’m satisfied with as well as some interesting stories to go with it. Fast CCC Crew Cab Sidewinder On Heavy Trash HunterDawg 89 2023-05-17 | An ex Durham NC truck now running routes for Latham Home Sanitation. In this video you’ll see it being driven by Kris who has been featured on my channel and others many times. Kris is a true professional and moves fast in any truck he gets his hands on, this being no exception. Kris runs routes in Loganville GA which has some of the heaviest trash I’ve ever seen. Not only is it common for houses to have 2+ 90 gallon trash carts, but all bulky items and yard waste have to go with the regular trash. This results in Kris having to do 2-3 loads a day. A recent switch to residents being required to pay for recycle has only made this route even more difficult. Usually Kris drives a multipack for ease of loading up bulk and yard waste, but it was down this day. So you’ll get to see him load up some bulk with the arm!Enjoy!
River Parish Disposal Revving Mack MR Heil 7000 HunterDawg 89 2023-05-06 | While in New Orleans me and a few others were able to catch one of the coolest trucks in the city, this red MR 7000 ran by River Parish. Originally I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to find one, but we lucked out and found one of their 2 MR 7000s collecting the French quarter. The French Quarter is a heavy tourist area. It is home to many bars and restaurants that produce massive amounts of very heavy trash every single day. All trash in the French quarter must be collected between 4-8 in the morning. So at 4am shortly after the bars close, River Parish and other companies roll in to pickup the heaps of trash left at the curb. And by 8am after the trash has been collected, the streets have been flushed and swept, and people have began to flood the streets again, the area is unrecognizable from what you see in this video. This whole video was filmed during the 4 o’clock hour which is why you will not see any daylight clips in this video.The driver ran the truck very well, revving the arm pretty good and occasionally redlining the truck while packing. It was a pleasant surprise that made finding this awesome truck even better. We had a few interesting encounters while filming this and other stuff in the French quarter… but it was all worth it. Brand New City Of Minneapolis Loadmaster HunterDawg 89 2023-04-26 | A quick video of a fresh CCC Loadmaster doing some recycling. The city trucks are always spec’d to the point with all sorts of small little things added. Such as the speaker system for the driver to communicate with the helper, a small metal box at the tailgate to hold tags and other items, and many flashing strobe lights. The tippers on this one were incredibly fast which made the efficient automatic tipper system even more efficient. I would have loved to get more but they went on break after I got this footage. Brand New Dennis New Way Sidewinder ASL HunterDawg 89 2023-04-11 | Latham Home’s newest addition is this brand new Dennis Eagle with a Sidewinder body. It was purchased after being a demo truck, and now runs a route in Snellville. Knowing this was unlike anything Latham has ever bought before, I knew I had to catch it. So on its 2nd day on route I made my way over to film. Kris (who many of you have seen on YouTube before) connected me with the driver Jason who was very cool and made this very enjoyable to film. Jason ran the truck very smooth, keeping all the lids closed, carts standing, and put back on the grass, all while keeping a steady quick pace through the route. The truck performed well aside from a slight lag in the gas pedal, and not turning great in cul de sacs. It was able to pack his entire 820ish can route into one load. I’m very happy with how this video turned out. You’ll see the truck collecting in a variety of neighborhoods. Starting in a very wooded older neighborhood, then onto a dense and picturesque gated community, and finishing in a small new development. I think the mix of all 3 made the video turn out well.Enjoy! Mack LR New Way Sidewinder Packing Heavy Trash HunterDawg 89 2023-03-28 | Here’s a video I shot of Al in his truck collecting the dense and heavy student neighborhoods of his Wednesday route. Despite the small geographical area of the route, the route has many cans as result of many students living in each house requiring them to have more than one trash can. These neighborhoods are often tricky for many reasons. First of all the large number of cars parked on the street often block or make cans difficult to get. And second, these cans are never taken back to the house by the college students. So any time during the week these cans are subject to being knocked over by wildlife, wind, etc. It is not uncommon to roll up on knocked over carts or loose trash in the street in these neighborhoods. Al handles all of these obstacles well. Al is one of the best drivers around here. He is quick, efficient, and neat leaving nearly every cart standing with the lid closed as well as put back where he found them instead of dropping them in the middle of the road. You’ll even get to see him do a few double dumps which I was surprised to see.Enjoy!
Southern Sanitation Mcneilus Metro Pak Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2023-03-14 | On a trip to Gwinnett not long ago, I started off in Southern Sanitation’s area of the county. Having never been filmed by anyone, I was aware of what some of the fleet consisted of, but there was still some mystery about what other trucks they might have. And sure enough, the first truck I found that day was this Metro Pak which I had absolutely no idea they had. The Metro Pak is essentially the same as the Heil 4000. Exceptions being the body and slight tailgate variations. These trucks aren’t all that common and I can’t recall ever filming one myself. This particular one is ex select sanitation which was a company southern purchased that used to operate in the area. You can still see their logo bleeding through a bit. Typically these internationals don’t catch my interest, but I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that this was no ordinary International. Usually these internationals sound a lot like a school bus which I personally don’t find at all appealing. But this one had a nice deep growl that I’ve never heard come from a truck like this before. Johnsons Garbage Service Loadmaster Tipping Zarns HunterDawg 89 2023-03-01 | A quick video I filmed last year on a trip to Columbia. JGS is a small company with a handful of various rear loaders; A few of which are these Freightliner 114SD Loadmasters. This one I found doing trash in a stereotypical Richland County neighborhood loaded with metal bar Zarns. The whole operation is very old school which I find interesting. Not only are many of the carts still Zarns, as you can see a 3 man crew is utilized to collect the route, and unseen is the large amount of backyard service stops which is something that has been incredibly common in the south in the past. These guys had a wonderful flow down. It’s not well seen in the video, but very frequently one helper would run ahead of the truck to consolidate carts and pull out backyards allowing the driver and the other helper to make a swift pass. This allowed them to knock out neighborhoods in a very short amount of time. It very impressive in person to see their system in action. Hope y’all enjoy it!Thanks to the crew for letting me film
Walters Recycling & Refuse Bridgeport Ranger Side Loader HunterDawg 89 2023-02-14 | Since Bridgeport ASLs are almost non existent in Georgia, A goal of mine 2 years ago while visiting family in Minnesota was to film one of Walters bright green Bridgeport Rangers. And one morning during my month in Minnesota I did exactly what I had been wanting to do for months. Walters’Bridgeports were eye catching to me not only just because Bridgeports are few and far between in GA, but also because of their bright green paint scheme, nice wraps, and wacky CNG tank placement. This one is sporting a wrap of Lake Superior, and the L shaped CNG tanks typically seen on rear loaders. This was filmed during peak of summer, so the neighborhood was incredibly lush which complimented the green paint scheme very well in my opinion. Waste Pro Western Star Heil PT1000 Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2023-02-01 | A pretty unique truck I found collecting recycle in Gwinnett a few weeks ago. I’ve tried numerous times in numerous places to catch a Western Star paired with a refuse body, but I always ended up not finding the truck, or it wasn’t being used for something I found worthy of recording. But finally I was able to get a video of exactly what I’ve been trying for. The incredibly friendly helper who worked at a quick pace made this an even more enjoyable experience. Waste Pro Football Cleanup 2022 HunterDawg 89 2023-01-11 | Another undefeated season for UGA. Like every year, Waste Pro was there to clean up on Sunday after every home game. Here’s some footage from a handful of different home games I peeked around at. After the largest home game (UGA v. Tennessee) Waste Pro brought out a front loader with a dumpster to pickup since it’s packing ability was much needed for the large amounts of trash put out. New Way Wolverine Prototype ASL HunterDawg 89 2022-11-30 | Recently I had a very special opportunity to go check out New Ways prototype Wolverine on route. This is one of 2 in the country right now. These aren’t in production yet, so this was more of a test run to find out the flaws of the product before they’re put into production as well as go get customers interested in the product. This was literally the first time this truck has ever picked up actual trash so naturally a lot of things were discovered to be fixed. This is the first full eject ASL New Way has made, and this truck is under CDL capable. With a large percent of CDL drivers expected to retire in the next 5-10 years, this could be a solution for companies short on drivers looking to put people in an ASL. And obviously this would also be a product for people looking for a mini ASL. Autocar ACX Heil Half Pack Curotto Can HunterDawg 89 2022-11-23 | One of many Curottos Waste Pro uses for the Gwinnett contract. Was refreshing to see an Autocar around here as they’re not super common. The driver was pretty quick so this was fun to film. I enjoyed seeing him do the cul de sacs Curotto style putting the bucket over the driveways. Enjoy!Thanks to the driver
Freightliner M2 Pac Tech Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2022-11-09 | Something I had to check out this past summer was Vierkant disposal’s Pac Tech RL. Having never seen one of these in person, I was very happy to have the opportunity. Overall it’s pretty similar to a Mcneilus. This truck would’ve performed better if the throttle advance wasn’t messed up. It only engages when the parking brake is set, and even then it only engages for the sweep function. Wasn’t a huge deal with a one man crew, but if you had a helper that certainly could get annoying depending on how heavy the route is. I believe the driver said that was gonna get adjusted to work for the whole pack cycle eventually. You’ll see the truck doing its 2 commercial trash stops, then hopping to residential trash in Edina. I found this to be very entertaining and I’m incredibly happy with how the video came out. Hope y’all enjoy as much as I do!Thanks to the driver for making this possible
City Of Atlanta Heil 5000 On Recycling HunterDawg 89 2022-10-26 | Standard Atlanta truck collecting a nice recycling route in Lennox. This crews speed was significantly decreased due to the messed up throttle for the packer and damaged step. Although paired with the nice scenery it was still a good enough pace to be worth filming in my opinion. Will have to find another fast recycle crew and get a video of them at their full potential. Brand New Mack LR Sidewinder HunterDawg 89 2022-10-19 | Doing trash and recycle over 2 separate days . The trash clips you can see that the “slow down to get around” decals had been added. This truck has yet to get a wrap on the side yet though. I am a fan of the flashing grille lights these 2 new sidewinders have. This driver just won 1st place for ASL at the national SWANA Road-EO in El Paso TX. Enjoy!
Garbage Trucks Of Unincorporated Richland County HunterDawg 89 2022-10-11 | Richland County South Carolina is the home of unique Loadmasters, 3 man crews, Zarns (in certain areas), and barker tippers. This area has been set up for semi automated with carts for a very long time which is the main reason such a huge area is still done by hand. The county is made up of 7 franchise zones, collected by 4 private companies which are showcased in this video. Starting with Johnson’s Garbage Service, who’s the smallest of the 4 haulers. You’ll see a few of Johnson’s trucks collecting trash and recycling in a few different areas of their zone. Next up is Waste Management. Previously ASI, their fleet of WM painted loadmasters makes them arguably the coolest and most unique company to service the county. The fleet contains a few oddballs that aren’t ex ASI, like the ex Advanced MR you’ll see collecting a backyard route in the video. After WM is Capital Waste. CWS is a growing company in South Carolina. CWS runs a uniformed fleet of Freightliner and international Loadmasters for their zones. Last but not least is GFL. GFLs fleet is most unlike the others by containing mostly mainstream New Way, Heil, and Mcneilus bodies. This was previously a Waste Industries contract, and many Waste Industries branded trucks can still be seen working this area. A handful of repainted units, newer GFL units, and rental trucks make up the rest of the fleet.Enjoy! Thanks to all the crews for making this possible.

CWS Loadmaster Excel Rear Loader HunterDawg 89 2022-09-27 | One of CWS’ many loadmasters knocking out a trash route in Richland county. This was particularly fun to film because of the crews speed and chemistry. The 2 of them make quick work of neighborhoods like this. Paired with a good driver, this crew makes it look easy. Can’t forget to mention the massive 33 yard body this truck has. The video doesn’t do justice to just how huge this truck really is. Probably the longest truck I’ve filmed to date. St.Petersburg Heil 7000 Collecting Carts & 300s HunterDawg 89 2022-09-07 | A few months ago I made my first visit to the state of Florida for a vacation. While I was there I made sure to set aside a morning to drive over to check out the city of St.Pete’s iconic operation. St.Petersburg has always fascinated me with efficiency and the cool history the operation has. I’m happy I was able to catch a 7000 which has been a staple of the fleet for years and years and years. Unfortunately due to the discontinuation of the 7000, the city now buys durapack rapid rails which are far less efficient and interesting. The route I caught this particular truck on was pretty interesting. It was a mix of tight alleys with 300s, and wide suburban streets with carts. It was a pretty confusing area to collect efficiently, but the driver who has been doing this route for 20 years had it down. I never saw him pass anything twice or turn around despite the crazy mix of alleys and street side. The route made for a pretty cool video in my opinion. St.Pete has twice a week trash service which makes collecting the 300s a lot faster and less messy than usual. No overfilling the hopper and needing to manual pack every time a 300 is collected. Beat Up Heil PT1000 On Recycling HunterDawg 89 2022-08-16 | The 2nd worst truck in the fleet at the time collecting recycling in the early evening in some fancy gated townhomes in Windermere. This was filmed shortly after SSI sold to Red Oak, and let’s just say it’s pretty obvious why they sold out lol. This was a good testament to SSIs horrible maintenance. Tipper leaking hydro, weak worn out hydraulics, lack of lights, etc etc. Most trucks in the fleet were just as worn down as this one. Not sure if Red Oak has since replaced this or not but good odds they did. Enjoy!Thanks to the crew for letting us film
MRI’s New Recycling Truck HunterDawg 89 2022-08-02 | During the annual rounds of Minneapolis, I stumbled upon this new Cobra collecting recycling. Even though it’s almost identical to the other MRI recycle trucks, I was still pleasantly surprised because not often any of the MRI haulers get brand new equipment. Just so happens that one of the best drivers who has been featured in my videos many times was driving/helping. That certainly made the experience 100x better as he is one of the fastest guys in the city.I found this video showcased how insanely efficient the system in Minneapolis is better than any of my others. You can watch a quick crew quickly knock out blocks and blocks of dense and heavy recycling with ease. Any standard American RL wouldn’t even come close to how fast these trucks move through routes. This particular morning, it took just about exactly 2 hours for the crew to completely pack out which is pretty impressive. On top of the trucks being efficient, the way the crews work is set up perfectly. Both switch periodically between driving and helping, and the driver always gets out to help to maximize efficiency.Without further ado, enjoy one of my personal favorite Minneapolis videos I’ve gotten to date!
