In this review I put the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 through my full set of standardized tests including carpet and hard floor vacuuming, mopping, object avoidance, dock performance, and battery runtime. Dreame made some significant changes from the first generation, stripping out features like hot water washing, the detergent tank, the built-in voice assistant, and the advanced AI obstacle avoidance system, all to bring the price down. The question is, did they strip out too much?

‼️ Update: Dreame has resolved the problem with it not going in straight lines via a firmware update. The update is 4.3.9-1221.
