Is the DJI Mini 5 Pro really a national security risk because of its LiDAR obstacle avoidance sensors? In this real-world flight test, Marcus from Idaho Quadcopter takes the Mini 5 Pro out on a hot, muggy August day in Idaho. We check for the latest DJI Fly app updates (RC 2 vs iPhone differences), do an automated takeoff, fly through trees, test vision assist, optimal return-to-home, and capture some smooth 4K-60 fps footage of the park — including the Julius Kleiner statue. Spoiler: It’s still just an awesome little mini camera drone made for fun aerial photography and videography… not military hardware.
