Kevin Smith visited the set of episode 9 as publicized on GMA. He posted a trailer reaction on his YouTube page and may have had a slip of the tongue and revealed Palpatine will be in a Spider Chair.

Perhaps similar to how his Hologram was projected on a spider like pad in The Phantom Menace??
