One objection against Christianity is the claim that Christians borrowed beliefs about resurrection from pagan myths. Although this idea became popular about a century ago and remains common online, most modern scholars reject it. Over the years, many scholars have argued that Christianity did not copy myths of dying and rising gods from pagan religions. Even scholars who believe some ancient religions had similar themes still conclude that Christians did not borrow from them. Today, the scholarly consensus is that the resurrection of Jesus was not derived from pagan mythology, despite how popular the claim is on the internet.
