Doctor Who Am I To Premiere in the United Kingdom - Interview FanboyNation 2022-10-27 | Editor's Note: I do apologize that my hate for the franchise does come out in this interview, but my love and respect for Ms. Yuille and Mr. Jacobs and their film 'Doctor Who Am I' supersedes my visceral contempt for Doctor Who. Life always takes an interesting turn, especially how I keep running into anything related to Doctor Who. During the Newport Beach Film Festival, my friend Robert Rollins rushed towards me, gushing with glee to inform me that Matthew Jacobs who wrote the Eighth Doctor was 10 feet away and I needed to meet him because he has a documentary in the festival called, 'Doctor Who Am I'.I do not have much of a poker face and the sour look on my face nearly destroyed Rollins' delight, "That's great, but I hate Doctor Who," I firmly stated."Well F**k you then!" Rollins replied jokingly.Rollins knows my love of documentaries, which often overshadows my dislike of a subject matter, lead me over for Matthew Jacobs and his co-director Vanessa Yuille at one sunset events. Mr. Jacobs and Ms. Yuille were a little apprehensive of my disdain for Doctor Who as Mr. Jacobs had his unfair share of blame thrown his way for the Paul McGann made-for-TV movie that aired on FOX in 1996 in hopes of attracting an American audience.Luckily, I was able to ware down Ms. Yuille and Mr. Jacobs in allowing me to see the documentary and interview them and I must say my level of loathing for the property is the complete inverse of my love for their documentary.'Doctor Who Am I' is marvelous film following Mr. Jacobs return the franchise after a quarter of a century of venomous attacks on who he is as a person, a writer and having ever put pen to paper regarding Doctor Who. However, even in fans hatred of his 1996 film, Jacobs was the prototype for what would lead to Christopher Eccleston (who I refer to as the guy in the leather coat in our interview) and his successors. Let's be honest, after a near decade hiatus, whomever was to pick up the pen after the Seventh Doctor Who would have been burned at the stake for their efforts, unfortunately, Jacobs is the one who felt the heat. However, all that training did not go to waste as those kills Powell helped me develop got me where I needed to be and all of Farmer's training took him from working at Disney's California Adventure, to now working behind the microphone for several Disney series, including 'Hamster & Gretel', which airs on Disney Channel and streams on Disney+.Powell confesses he grew up in a broken home, forcing his family to constantly move in his youth, but that the one main consistent in his life was the Disney Afternoon block of cartoons. He also confessed that he listened to 10 years worth of podcasts about voice over before taking the initiative and entering the world itself.During D23 Expo and Disney Centennial, Powell as the moderator for the 'Hamster & Gretel', which is a role he prepared for earlier in the season, because he played a moderator very early in season one. Mama Heat went back to graduate school once the tag team was able to attend primary school, earning her doctorate and now is the president of a university.However, the drive to still compete and be active called the the Carlson's and after having been introduced to the world of professional wrestling began training with WWE Hall of Famers, The Wild Samoans in the Northeast, leading them back to Florida to soak up the sun and drop some elbows on the competition.Unlike most siblings, the Carlson's don't rely on "twin magic" to win matches but their cunning intellect and pure athleticism that could have easily landed them the moniker, "Brains and Beauty" similar to the late-80s WWF (now WWE) tag team, "Power and Glory."
