In this behind-the-scenes look at the development of Thorlabs’ Prelude® Functional Imaging Microscope, learn about the specific application needs of researchers at Baylor College of Medicine and how Thorlabs Imaging Research Group designed a system to meet those challenges. When Professor Jacob Reimer noted a need for a mobile, compact multiphoton microscope, Prelude, the first-of-its-kind system for two photon imaging of green fluorescent protein (GFP) was created. This compact and maneuverable multiphoton microscope features both motorized XYZ translation and manual ±90° rotation, providing multi-axis access to samples at non-vertical angles.
