In this week 8 matchup of two teams eliminated from the PSL playoffs during the quarterfinal round, Detroit Denby (5-2) led by all-state WR Robert Strickland (Michigan State University) sought to finish their season off strong against Detroit Henry Ford (4-2). Henry Ford was coming off a disappointing loss to the eventual PSL champions, Detroit Martin Luther King. In this game, the ground game of Henry Ford led by fullback Jeff Atkins and tailback John Radney was too much for Denby. Ford won, 38-6.
