Detransition: More than Regret (with Kinnon Ross MacKinnon & Pablo Exposito Campos).
In this video I am joined by the reasercher Kinnon Ross MacKinnon & predoctoral researcher Pablo Exposito Campos to discuss the detransition phenomenon as an academic research field. All three of us believe in building bridges and that both detrans people and trans people can benefit more from research and more understanding of the detransition phenomenon than from the political polarisation taking place now.
We discuss topics such as the frequency of detransitions, the nature of the factors leading to potential detransition, the shift in gender identity, how different definitions of detransition have been used historically as well as a standard for different studies, whether trans and LGBT organisations should be more inclusive of detransitioners & whether detransition can be understood in terms of regret.
