Delta 8 THC has exploded in the hemp industry with a lot of hype and controversy behind it. This psychoactive cannabinoid is in a legal grey area that allows for hemp processors to create a product similar to delta 9 THC without the legal ramifications of producing delta 9 outside of legal jurisdiction. Though less potent than its delta 9 sibling, delta 8 is less potent. Nonetheless, it is a psychoactive cannabinoid that does produce a "high" when used. For this reason, there is a lot of interest, and a lot of skepticism, surrounding this hemp compound. In this episode of extrakTALKS, Dr. Jon and Randall Thompson dive into the fascinating topic of delta 8 THC. They will detail a number of important factors including how delta 8 is made, the legal status of delta 8, the differences and similarities from delta 9, delta 8 and other hemp cannabinoids and much more.
