EDITORS NOTE: So, for the final round of SYTYCV (I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M ACTUALLY HERE!) we had a free-for-all round as long as we used the skills we learned/polished throughout the process of this competition. I picked dean and haley to use for a few reasons:
1. They are a couple that don't actually exits. Therefore, It is up to me to completely create a storyline for them from scratch. Its incredibly complicated, especially since you have to provide all of the subtext for your viewers. They don't know the storyline already to fill in all of the blanks because they don't actually exist in real life
2. This couple always tests my creative abilities when it comes to vidding. Making sure manips look realistic and that everything flows well/makes sense is a challenge in and of itself
3. They are one of my favorite couples on the planet. I know they aren't real, but that is the beauty of them. YOU get to write their story however you would like to :)

I really wanted to focus on a few main things from the competition: Storytelling in a way that is clear and to the point without being muddied by extra stuff you dont need. I feel like I generally tend to add certain clips in just because I like the expression or the clip itself, and I want to get away from that. I wanted to make sure that everything added to the timeline was helping move the story along. I really wanted to make sure that the story I was telling didn't need a description to help people make sense of it. I also wanted to work on voiceovers to help me tell my story. I generally don't do voiceovers with lyric songs because its hard to work around them, so I wanted to challenge myself in that way. And lastly, I wanted to make sure it was still MY video. I wanted to make sure that it still had my touch- being uniquely mine while still using the skills I learned.

This contest has been nothing but amazing. I have learned so much and definitely grown as an editor and I can only say thank you so so much for letting me get this far. I appreciate how much the judges put into this contest, especially with the reviews and giving us feedback on our work. I have had the best time ever
