Previously we have archived various entries in the DOAX series, but never of the original fighting series Dead or Alive. My introduction to the DOA universe started with Dead or Alive 2 on the PlayStation 2, but I really fell in love with the game when I played the third title on the original Xbox. The graphics were gorgeous and the action tight and super fast. Combos were easy to learn and the counter system added an awesome spin to the fighting formula.
The stages are all varied and the dynamic destruction where you can knock an enemy off a platform and still continue the fight is awesome. The character design has always been great with personal favorites like Kasumi and Hitomi being the highlight.
Overall it just was an absolute nostalgic trip to play this game again after so many years and I am excited to play the fourth title on the Xbox 360 to archive that as well.
