A long while ago, my friends and I played a sort of "masquerade" D&D mini-campaign where we based our characters off of some existing figure and everyone else had to guess who/what we'd chosen. I picked Dionysus for my character, Dee, and ended up enjoying him so much that I put an animatic together about his backstory (very heavily based off of mythology, of course). Lots of inspiration from Supergiant Games' Hades.

But, this song made me think of the apocalypse for some reason, like if a bunch of survivors gathered up, made their own city, and their leader went insane.

I saw another version of Ritsu singing this, but I like the sound of this one, because the other one wasusing the KIRE bank, and this is his standard. I love the KIRE voicebank so much, but I find his standard to be very nice, too.
Some people like that, some people hate it. I chose to keep it that way because I enjoy the sound of it.

this was a significant First for me in that i pretty much just had a midi to work from for the entire thing including the instrumental. the original artist shinku provided a midi and the original instrumental with all of the samples built in for covers, but i wanted to try sampling and making the cover more my own, so there was a lot more experimenting involved. i learned a lot of shit about my video editor, made the art myself, etc...
it definitely isnt perfect but i think it was cathartic because of the subject matter. i used some video clips from 1984 and a famous anti-propaganda film and all of the audio samples are from a documentary about how the government didnt give a shit about my community (the queer community ofc) during the aids crisis. its all very reflective of the political climate we live in today lol
so anyway i worked rly hard on this and if you have thoughts i would love to hear them. much love to shinku
