Building on the momentum of their 20th anniversary album Love You All Over Again, released via Full Time Hobby to critical acclaim in January, Tunng are now sharing a remix of their single ‘Snails’ by William Doyle (of East India Youth).
“I was spoilt for choice when trying to pick a song from the new Tunng album”, says Doyle. “But ‘Snails’ immediately resonated with me. I was so pleased to have such a heartfelt song and so much deliciously produced audio to play with”.
“Once I loaded the stems up”, he continues, “I very much just let the sound guide me, which is why it turned into quite a different beast than the original! I hope I’ve managed to keep the sense of warmth and fun that Tunng always gives us as listeners while also trying to guide the boat to a different distant shore.

Its inspired by my relationship to life, death, fear and acceptance and how my relationship to those four things has shifted in recent years, and especially since we began this project. On one hand Im hugely drawn to rational thought and scientific knowledge as a way to solve problems and navigate life. On the other hand I only seem to make real progress when I accept how little I know and really embrace that unknowing.
Maybe the unknowing helps me deal with lifes contradictions?
Im unafraid of being dead but afraid to die.
Life scares the crap out of me and yet I love life so much.
Trying to make intellectual sense of the huge range of positive and negative feelings I have about life and death doesnt always seem possible. Accepting the flow of experience however, without trying to understand it, does sometimes seem to work for me and make it all more manageable.")

It’s almost been a year since my EP Again Again came out, says Dana Gavanski, which was for me a little turn in direction - a loosening of sorts. so my pal Charlie Buckley and I made a little visualiser to accompany one of my fav songs on the EP, My oh My.
We woke up super early during that super cold stretch in London a couple weeks ago and went to the heath to join the dog walkers and squirrels. And let me tell you, the light was insanely beautiful, despite how insanely cold, crunchy and icy a morning it was. (Pssst. It’s v worth it to get up early just for this light-i think thats the secret to almost everything). Hope you enjoy x
