Decided to remake an old video of mine, since the original was kinda crappy and also didn't have any info about character skills or other minor stuff like vehicle attacks. Also used this as an excuse to separate the two splash damage documents into two documents for the guides and two documents for the lists of guns (so four documents in total, two for BL2 and two for TPS). I figured it's kinda annoying to scroll through a long guide everytime you just want to check how much splash damage a weapon has, so a separate list is better for general usage, even if it means I need to put a ton of links in my descriptions. lol

It's been a while. This video has plagued me for a long time now, but it's finally out. Next up I plan on re-making one of my oldest game mechanic videos, so hopefully that one will be smoother and faster in production. After that I want to tackle melee damage. Then it's probably back to God Eater videos for a bit. So, as you can see, I already have the next 5 years planned out! (I'm joking... I think) Anyway, I hope this video was interesting.

The majority of it is from the SB run. That was the one weapon I really tryharded with, and with a time of 5m21s (faster than any run I've ever seen of this mission and even faster than my CS time, which is probably the best weapon in the game for Dyaus Pita) I think it's safe to say it's a WR. I've completed multiple runs with it and kept improving my times, because I always felt like it could be better. I did several Perfect Clears, but they were all over 6 minutes. I knew it could be faster though because I got non-perfect runs that were sub 6. My times kept improving, but I always got hit during those runs, which was really frustrating. Eventually I had a really good run of 5m38s, but I got hit once near the end, which made me want to stop. However, literally half an hour later, I got the 5m21s Perfect Clear, which was unlike any run I've had before and I was so damn relieved lol. Of course, with optimal RNG it could still be better, but as far as the gameplay goes, I'm very proud of this run.
Other time sinks were the BB and BH runs, because crush damage is just annoying to deal with against DP, as hitting his head consistantly is tricky due to the terrible hitboxes (you'll see me hit his shoulders or even his body directly behind his head a couple of times). At least the hitzone value isn't bad, so if you hit it, you'll deal good damage, allowing BB to sit at 3rd place. BH on the other hand is really screwed over in this particular match-up, especially on PC. As enemies can't be downed at +99 difficulty due to the 60 FPS, BH has no opportunity to effectively use Boost Mode, meaning you have to use regular attacks for the entire fight. Trying to squeeze it in anywhere is just a loss of DPS due to the slow startup, you need big openings. As such BH is on the same level as LB, a slash weapon. LB and VS have the worst damage type for DP, he has no good slash hitzones, the best being his hindlegs which can't be broken either. VS is probably the weapon I spent the least time on for these runs, so it's the most likely to be able to perform better, but it's probably safe to say that it's the worst weapon for DP in terms of DPS. Not in terms of ease of use though, I'll gladly take it over BH any day. And finally there's CS, like SB a hit and run weapon but with more damage and pure pierce damage, which is the best damage type for DP by far. VS and CS are the two weapons where I took the first perfect clear I got for the video, so CS could be improved too. If I tried really hard, then I could imagine beating 5m21s with CS at some point, but I don't have that urge at the moment.
All in all this video was intended to be more of a endgame gameplay weapon showcase, which is why I waited nearly a year to upload it, because I wanted to publish the God Eater introduction video I made first (which took me way too long to finish tbh). It was also very good practise for my upcoming weapon guide series for Resurrection. Lots of points I'll be talking about are demonstrated perfectly in the gameplay here, so hopefully you can look forward to it. Don't sit on the edge of your seat though, it's gonna take me a while to finish the series, especially because I want to make Borderlands videos as well.

0:00 Frozen Empress
3:31 Hellfire Knight
9:49 Lord of Thunder
If you're unfamiliar, the melee weapon I'm hitting the enemies with barely deals any damage and instead is used for its extremely high absorption rate, so most of the damage comes from my gifts, pretty much making it a "pure" caster. I guess you could try stacking up on ichor refilling consumables and using more ichor gifts, but I wanted to meet the "no items" condition of the Horror Hunting Trials as well and a self-sustaining build that isn't crippled by constantly having to waste lots of time regaining ichor is also just more fun.
Anyway, if I had to rank the bosses in difficulty, I'd put them in the same order they are in the video. Frozen Empress being the easiest, then Hellfire Knight and Lord of Thunder the most difficult. HK is definitely the most fun to fight out of the 3 though, since the fight takes much longer and it's also a fairer fight in a no-hit run. Both FE and LoT have attacks that are pretty cheap, they don't deal a lot of damage, so they're fine during regular kills, but they're really unreliable to dodge. The shock carpet attack of LoT that he does after a backflip is just a massive pain in the ass to deal with. Basically just spam rolls and hope you don't roll into it, because you can't see where it is anyway due to the camera movement. FE's crystals are also kinda annoying if the blue one gets to summon his ice pillars, but thankfully Dancing Fireblade exists to deal with them. HK does have the homing firestorm attack which I was lucky not having to deal with during this fight, but it's managable if you run away from the boss, so it's mostly just annoying but it can still fuck you over if you have to dodge 2 attacks at the same time.
I still like all 3 bosses though, I think it's really cool that they managed to make Hannibal, Marduk and Dyaus Pita good fights in both a Monster Hunter-like and a Souls-like.
Oh, I also did something very similar to this a few months ago, except it wasn't at +10 difficulty but therefore with a level 100 character. I wasn't using an optimized build though and the video quality also kinda sucks. You can check it out if you want to: youtube.com/watch?v=iWeplgo96cY

As with my sorcery run I didn't want to cheese the Ancient Wyvern and chose to fight it in the same area again and I also did not reduce the Greatwolf's health by fighting it earlier in the DLC. This time I didn't bother with the minibosses though, because I think they're not that interesting. If you want to watch the sorcery video as well, here you go: youtube.com/watch?v=-xynZRc-Fz0 Some bosses were definitely easier as a sorcerer compared to a pyromancer (most notably Yhorm) while some were much easier as a pyromancer (most notably Aldrich). Overall I think it was pretty much the same in difficulty, just with a slightly different approach for each scenario. Sorceries have more range and home in on enemies, but pyromancies have faster casting times on the high damage attacks and larger hitboxes.
If I had to pick the 3 most difficult bosses for me during this run again, this time it would be: 1. Friede 2. Yhorm 3. Demon Prince
Demon Prince and Friede were overall just difficult bosses again, but I definitely struggled with Friede the most. Yhorm took for ever though because the way pyromancies travel makes it a very rare occurance to hit his head, so it became kind of an endurance test. His complete immunity to fire damage also meant I wasn't able to try something like Profaned Flame, which might make it easier to hit his head. Also the Midir fight was pretty messy and I took a lot of hits, but that's because I actually did it on my first try, so he's definitely not on the list. Overall, pyromancies or not, I find Midir much easier than some other bosses in the game. He's just annoying (like all dragon bosses in Dark Souls).
