There's a wall blocking your way after doing the Mega Flip, so I can't do the Mega Flip from a higher spot. I can improve my position a bit more by doing a sidehop-hover, so I'm standing directly in front of the spider, but I'm not sure if it is still possible to do the Mega Flip from there.
In case you are wonder what's going on with my B Button in the beginning: I forgot that you have to be swordless to do the Blank A trick, so I needed to do some MHS memory manipulation, so I didn't have to restart.
Adding in the reset you do after opening the chest, obtaining the chus costs around 1 whole minute. Pretty much, I hoped for it to be less. Oh well, maybe we can still make this faster somehow.
About the TAS itself, the only real interesting part is the strategy I use after clipping out of bounds. This strategy is by far the fastest I was able to come up with, because jumpslashing into the water makes surfacing way faster

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
This actually wasn't supposed to be a Christmas present, because we expected to finish this rather in October or something, but this is definitely a great time to eventually publish this anyway. Bloob and I decided to finally turn Ocarina of Time TASes into a frame war similar to Super Mario 64 so every section took forever. But quality needs its time, simply the way it is.
The encode has been once again done by Aktan, who is a true master at what he does (like you can clearly see). Very very huge thanks to him. This time I was probably not as annoying as the last time^^
This run was made on an emulator, using frame-by-frame shooting, savestates, and rerecords to overcome things like reaction time and human error. As such, it is purely a form of entertainment, and is not designed to show skill.
The various tricks and glitches, such as the Wrong Warp Glitch, have been described by me here: http://tasvideos.org/3826S.html
This TAS is the result of half a year of hard work on the game. There were many new glitches which we abused to improve the old run massively. At the same time we also saved time at many many sections that are done the same way simply by optimizing them even better. I think Ocarina of Time can now be viewed as an official part of the "Frame War League".
This run was made by Bloobiebla and MrGrunz. It should not be uploaded without first getting permission from us.
Any anti-TAS comments will be deleted. Seriously, if you're just going to call it "cheating" or something equally ridiculous, don't even bother commenting at all. Save us both a bit of time.

This tool-assisted speedrun by Sam (toxicparrot321) aims to beat The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in as little a time as possible by abusing several tricks and glitches whilst skipping the final boss fight.

This is a TAS of the Ganonless Category in Ocarina of Time, it's main goal is to finish the game as fast as possible with the only restriction being that you can't fight Ganon! This means that I have to use a glitch to skip into the final credits!

I include 3 versions in this video, because I got 2 different versions of this before I finally got it done the way I wanted it. And if I have them, why not show them as well? I also added slowdowns, so it gets easier for the console guys to understand and create setups.
So how this work? When you are Hoversliding, you are normally losing a little bit of speed each frame. In order to clip the corner, you need full superslide speed (-18), so once you reach the corner, you are actually too slow to clip through it. The trick is to keep HISSing during the Hoverslide, which makes you keep all of the speed. By instantly doing a backflip after ending the HISS, you still have -18 speed at the first frame of your backflip, which is enough to clip through the corner. The transition from the HISS into the backflip has to be done frame perfectly or else you lose too much speed and clipping becomes impossible.
Version 2 should be the easiest to create a setup of. All you have to do is holding the ESS angle to the left for the whole slide and once you are in front of the ice, you press Z+ the right angle on your stick and instantly backflip on the next frame. Should even be easier than the Megaflip method, which uses ISG.
Btw, don't tell me that version 3 is pointless because I use a Sword there. Of course, it is, but as it looks quite cool I decided to include it. The Sword is somewhat "cheated" here. I didn't want to re-do everything just to be able to record this version, so I used MHS and manipulated the value of my B button to turn the Boomerang into a Sword.

So it turns out you can beat Snowhead while collecting all fairies in under 6 minutes, which is suprisingly fast. This shows nicely how awesome a 100% TAS of this game could be. Sadly, we all know this is never going to happen.
Sam's comment on the run:
"Hey guys Sam here. This is my Snowhead 100% TAS that MrGrunz has been kind enough to upload to his channel. I started this about 3 weeks ago expecting it to take only a few days for me to complete, but as I got told a few major things that I could improve I decided that I wanted to make this as good as I possibly could.
The end result of this is something that I am very happy about and I think it shows how much I have improved since I ended creating my Any% No RBA/WW TAS in Ocarina of Time.
Notes on this run:
- I use a bomb to pop the bubble under the rock as it is faster than using a chu later on
- I use an A-slide to clip underground and hookshot to the fairy chest that you would usually have to be on the second floor to collect. This also skips the cutscene you have to watch if you enter the main room normally.
-I use a pot to Recoil Flip across the gap to reach the room with the two wolves, faster than using chus/bombs.
- I hover off of the White Boe to reduce the lag that another explosive would create.
- I use a slash to position the Lizalfos so that I can kill both with a single jumpslash.
- Use Anti-Gravity to reach the chest in the alcove then collect the fairy at the bottom and use Zora Mask to put myself at the top again."

He gave me permission to upload this WIP (= Work in Progress) so a bigger audience is able to see the work he has done. Sam worked hard on this and I guess what he has done by now is pretty awesome.
He is using a completed file for this run, so when he opens the chest of the Fire Arrows, Compass and Map he only receives a blue rupee, because he obtained those items already.

Suprise, Suprise! I was actually working on a new TAS within the last months. This beats the previous record by 59,5 seconds and is now by far the fastest Ocarina of Time has ever been beaten.
There's no way this run would've been possible without help from others, most notably, Sam, who worked together with me on this in the end. Check out his Channel and Subscribe to him, because he is going to upload many TASes within the near future: http://www.youtube.com/user/toxicparrot321

This TAS is the result of 5 months of hard work on the game. My goal was to save 20 seconds over Swordless Link Any% TAS and as I saved almost one minute I'm more than satisfied with the final result.

If you let go of the Control Stick while sliding Link's animation gets fucked up and somehow allows him to move through actors like they wouldn't even be there. It is possible to get different animations with almost the same input and only a few animations actually make clipping possible. If you pull out an item during this time it should always work, but it can be done without any items as well (it is simply much harder).
http://www.youtube.com/user/DanS611
Why do crazy Hovers and abuse the updraft, if you can simply go through walls? Seems like Stone Tower is completely destroyed now thanks to this trick.
Alltogether this trick saves around 11 seconds and 3 explosives over the strategy I used in the any% run.
People called me crazy when I decided to restart almost completely, but the final result certainly proves all this wrong. I saved 1 minute and 30 seconds and managed to find many new tricks while redoing it like Super Swimming and Cutscene Skipping.
Without redoing this I would have been finished over a year earlier, though, because it took me until January 2011 to reach the end of Pirate's Fortress again.
I hope you enjoy!
Don't ask about the fucked up inventory, I used cheats to get to the place. The glitch itself is 100% legit and can be done on console!
http://www.youtube.com/user/ChristianF23
This is a completely new trick, that finally allows us to skip all Adult Dungeon Medaillon cutscenes.
This requieres frame perfect timing, only 1 single frame works!
This should save at least 10 minutes in a speedrun.
Skipping the Song of Time in this room was the last step to finally make Song of Time Skip possible for a All Temples Master Quest TAS.
This trick is TAS only, console whores shouldn't even try to do this ;)

Personal Comment:
Finally a really successful task. 9 People entered, which is the highest number we've ever managed to get. Many new TASers showed up and even Bloobiebla entered, so I hope, that we can keep this little TAS hype up for a few weeks. The next task will be posted tomorrow, would be cool to see again so many entrants ;)
There's another TASer, that is doing a really awesome job. I recommend subscribing to him:
http://www.youtube.com/user/toxicparrot321
This is supposed to be used mainly in a Master Quest All Temples Speed Run due to getting the Hover Boots requiring Song of Time. Thus skipping the should be much faster.
I hoped to be able to do it with even less explosives, but 6 extra bombs/bombchus is a decent number.
Some of you might know the beginning already. I was lazy and simply modified my old TAS after reaching the seam ;)
Subscribe to this user, he does some really cool TASes (his newest video is very old, I recommend watching for example his "Master Quest All Temples WIP"):
http://www.youtube.com/user/tylerartrip
Although the new GBT Access itself is 39 franes faster and saves a bomb, the old version of the MM TAS looked cooler in my opinion. At least it really turned out to save some time.
In WCT using a bombchuchu to skip to the guard saves 171 frames, almost 3 seconds. As I didn't use a bombchu there in the full game run a new route would be short by one bombchu later on, but I actually know a place where using the saved bomb instead of a bombchu is faster any way, so a new route should definitely use this strategy from now on ;)
It's been a while since I did my last TAS, mainly because I was simply bored of TASing in general after finishing the full game MM run. I'm not sure if I'll do more of those small runs within the next time, but if you can provide me with some nice ideas for stuff I could TAS, there's a chance that I'll try them out.
Enjoy!
Furthermore there are some side effects of getting Adult Link without ever having equipped a sword, that may allow us to get Bottle on B without visiting the Fishing Pond, which would be a huge timesaver for any% and we could get times around 48 minutes in an Any% Speedrun then.
Step by step explanation (using the common camera positions of the old DoT Skip):
- Do a sideways roll followed by a sidehop using the same angle like you do for the normal DoT Skip.
- During the sidehop let go of Z and hold forward to decrease Link's Speed.
- The first frame you are Out of Bounds you press Z to target the wall of the Door of Time. This will make the speed of Link face towards the Door of Time, so Link won't move away from it.
- At the same frame you press Z, you start holding left for 15 frames.
- After those 15 frames you hold forward and a tiny bit to the left. This should make link clip inside of the DoT after some hops.
Here's the standard description for this kind ofvideos:

Personal Comment:
I'm glad to see a dedicated console speed runner like Runnerguy2489 finally joining this competition. He even got 2nd place. I hope to see more people participating in the future.
Holy fuck, I can't remember any trick I had to waste so much time for to eventually pull it off. Shadow Temple always knew a way to stop me in the very last moment.
The problem about it is, that a "All Temples" Speedrun has only access to 20 bombs and 1 bombchu at this point of the game, so I was pretty limited at the amount of explosives I was able to use. Coincidence wanted it to be very hard to reach the loading zone with this number of explosives, so I had to fight for every pixel while TASing this. In the end I ended up having this TASed like 10 times until it finally worked.
This trick is very likely to be TAS only. Without the program MHS (Memory Hacking Software), that allows me to view my exact position, it is almost impossible to know where exactly you are standing at the moment.
Alltogether It should save around 2 minutes in a TAS run, so I'm very happy that this has eventually been discovered.
Enjoy!
I know you guys had to wait long for this (actually planned on finishing this in like early 2010), but here it is. good quality needs time, which apllies to the actual TAS and also to the encode. The TAS was finished over a month ago already, but I decided to wait for Aktan to encode this first before publishing it on youtube, so I could provide this very high quality encode. Huge thanks to him for doing such an amazing job.
It was made on an emulator, using frame-by-frame shooting, savestates, and rerecords to overcome things like reaction time and human error. As such, it is purely a form of entertainment, and is not designed to show skill.
The various tricks and glitches, such as the Fairy Fountain Wrong Warp Glitch and Bottle Duplication Glitch, have been described by me here: http://tasvideos.org/3194S.html
This TAS is the result of 2 years of hard work on the game. My goal was to get a time under 1 hour and 30 minutes. Although I discovered many new tricks while doing the run, I only barely subbed 1:30. Words can't describe how happy I am that I finally finished this project and I guess most people out there are very happy to see this run eventually done as well.
There's no way this run would've been possible without help from others, most notably, Slowking, who planned the whole route with me, had many great ideas behind a lot of the strategies I use, checked my WIPs and also motivated me all the time.
This run was made by me. It should not be uploaded without first getting permission from me.
Any anti-TAS comments will be deleted. Seriously, if you're just going to call it "cheating" or something equally ridiculous, don't even bother commenting at all. Save us both a bit of time.

This trick was the last obstacle for skipping either Hookshot or Hover Boots as both of them were requiered for one of the 2 Trials Skip methods we had.
This trick is actually not that hard at all. Here's some rough explanation:
- Count the white lines on the stairs we did the Trials skip with Hover boots on
- You start counting at the upper part of the stairs. The right position is between the 6th and 7th line
- Line up with the Loading zone
- Drop a Bomb, Wait 2/3 second and pull out a second bomb
- throw the bomb towards the loading zone
- Mega Flip, get hit by the bomb, victory
Have fun with this trick!
For anybody wantign to ask anything Majora's Mask TAS related:
All I can say is all your questions will be answered soon enough ;)
Sadly, you can't kill Volvagia without hitting him at least one time with the Megaton Hammer. Thus I can't kill him without watching the cutscene.
Ps: For anyone who wants to ask something related to the Majora's Mask TAS, I have some good news. The TAS is almost done, expect it to be finished at the end of May.
I had this idea about a year ago already, but I did not manage to do it. I decided to give this another shot 2 days ago and finally did it.
By Super Swimming we can enter every room in GBT without using the switches now.
I also decided to show a cool way to finish the temple. Before the "ultimate BK skip" existed I always wanted to discover Pre-Boss room early in order to be able to skip almost the whole temple. Now this became useless already, but at least some of my elder zelda wishes fulflilled now.
This trick might be useful for 100%, no real idea about it, though ;)
This definately saves a nice amount of time. No idea if a console speed runner can use this, but by now I know they can do everything any way so no need to even think about them not being able to do it ;)
I might continue this in the future and do the whole temple, if I feel like doing so.
I tried my best to manipulate the keese and ended up freaking out, so I just decided to kill those faggy faggots ;)
I use a Sideways Jump with a bomb recoil followed by a triple staircased mega flip hover to grab the ledge with the zora mask followed by a recoil flip clipping OoB going into a Z-Slide of the Goron thing :D
This should be the final way now that will be also used in the full game TAS.
Enjoy
Allows to enter the graveon any day with 1 explosive.

As there's still a long way to go until I finish this shit I decided to upload a WIP for you guys, so you can see that I haven't given up yet.
This WIP contains the section of the first time leaving Clock Town until entering Woodfall Temple. I've done way more than this already, but I don't want to show you everything right now.
I use a lot of tricks I discovered I haven't published yet in this WIP:
1. Cutscene Skipping - By playing Song of Double Time right before a cutscene starts, I can skip it. This only works when going from day to night time.
2. Super Swimming - By using the Z-button to keep the speed of entering the water and using the A+B button to control my high as Zora Link I am able to swim through water with Superslide speed.
3. I discovered how to start the Flying Zora glitch at the turtle, which also me to use a slidly different and faster route.
4. Hovering on the pillar in the Fairy Fountain saves a lot of explosives, which I can use for some Bomb tricks later in the run.
5. Entering Deku Palace from the entrance that is actually supposed to be the exit skips the Deku Palace intro cutscene (Discovered by Slowking).
6. I use a completely new strategy in Deku Palace to save explosives and time.
Some criticism would be nice. I hope you enjoy my work!

Personal Comment:
(coming soon)
Link itself (the place where the actions take place) is warped to somewhere on the Lake Hylia map. Link's animation (also the place shown on the map) is usually warped to MT. Crenel, but other places are also possible. The camera usually moves to the top left of the screen.
I had to use the US Rom to record this. On the European version you can use items after you get warped and can do some other stuff. The US version has way worse physics for glitch hunting this game for some reason.
I even know some other glitches that aren't possible on the US version, but on the european one, which I will upload soon, when I finally feel like copying the files from my DVD Recorder to my computer. It seems nintendo changed a lot of stuff before they published the US game :/

Personal Comment:
This time the biggest surprise is Bluri. This was his first MM/OoT TAS and he did fucking well. If he did the part after hookshoot clibbing a bit better, he could have gotten 2nd place for sure.

This a TAS Competition I started for Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time. You can get more information about it here:

Everybody is welcome to take part, you don't need any experience at all. Venick409 for example did his first TAS for this competition and as you can see, he did really well.
Task 1:
Enter "Beneath the Graveyard" on the night of the 1st day and collect the Heart Piece. You can use as many bombs and bombchus as you feel like. Timing ends when you open the chest of the Heart Piece.
Results for Task 1:

I must say Olivebates did really awesome. He has so much talent, that when he keeps taking part, he'll soon kick my ass :/
By using this strategy we are able to skip the bean. Even if you plant the bean this strategy is still quicker ;)
rerecord count: way too much 3,5k
Just decided to upload to show, that I'm still working on it. as I've decided to re-do the MM TAS back in january, because of major improvements I've discovered, it is still a long way to go until the TAS is finished.
Don't expect me to finish the TAS before autumn 2010 ;)
In this video I show an awesome way to clear Deku Palace way quicker than before and also with fewer bombs. No need to talk about the higher crazieness level, which looks just damn awesome.
Enjoy
I might do more of this in the near future. if you have a nice idea, please tell me via messaging me or just leaving a comment.
I'd say that new way to enter the Water Temple is epic :D
This way to beat the spirit temple might be even quicker than planting the bean and using the "Mirror Shield Ledge early" trick. This has to be timed.
I can't really tell, wether this trick can be done on console, but it seems a bit hard to do in the already hard spirit temple segment ;)
I've discovered a controlable slide with superslide speed, that only requieres a source of damage to set off and not even a grabable item. I combine this new trick with a little play around. I hope it entertains at least a bit.
The downside is, that you loose a bit speed whenever you turn a bit. I haven't discovered any way to get around this yet, so this is no real 100% Hyper Endless Superslide yet. But it is still very useful as it can be done with any source of damage, so it allows you to "superslide" at places where you are actually not supposed to superslide and it also saves bombs ;)
How to:
- Roll into a source of damage like you would do when you want to mega flip
- Hold forward at the end of the roll
- Let go of R and Z at the same frame and press Z 3 frames afterwards and keep repeating this process over and over again
This trick is a TAS only, not because of hard timing or something, but because it forces you to press Z so precisely, that it is just not possible for a console player ;)
I use Nayru's Love to be able to quickly set up lots of Hyper Endless Superslides, which saves a lot of time and looks really crazy. I also include a few speed tricks and new techniques I've discovered like the "keep speed via Z-targetting" or the mega flip to unload the area.
I think there's no need to write more about this, so I stop here now.
oh something I've forgot!
In the beginning I show a new way to enter Gerudo's Fortrees as kid link. Just use a Bombchu Boost combined with a jumpslash ;)
Just for comparison:
Superslide has speed 27, Backwalking has speed 13.5 and this has 23.5. It is also a lot quicker than a jumpslash ESS
I also show a technique, that I used in my last 2 TASes. By pressing Z every 3 frames, you can keep speed for ever! The problem is, that you can only change the direction once while doing this without loosing speed. I have no idea why only 1 time, but that is fact, sadly :(
The result is pretty damn epic!
This was probably the hardest thing I've ever TASed. The Recoil Jump requiered pixel perfection, but now the awesome thing:
Normally Link would hang off the ledge after recoil jumping, but pressing the Ocarina Button at a certain frame boosts link on to the ledge and even allows me to do a ESS afterwards :D
Enjoy da shitz =)
READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE WATCHING!!!!!
1. This trick seems to be an ultra huge shortcut, but it sadly isn't. By doing this you also skip past the boss key, which you'll need later in the temple to open the boss door. So this is only really useful if you discover a Boss Key Skip.
2. It seems, that this trick works only on the european version of the game. Both Tompa and me were able to do it on their european games, but not on the US Rom of the game, although we even tried to do it using Frame Advance
The Sequence Break is done by using a new techique I've discovered a while back already. How to:
Do the "using items on pots glitch" on those bigger stones using the gloves. Always remember to jump on to the stone either from the left or right side ;)
I'll upload more Minish Cap glitches within the next time, when I feel like.
And happy chrismas, Blizzerk :D
