The 13TB Steam Leak Is Bigger Than You Think
updated
Tens of thousands of adult games have vanished from Steam and Itch.io, not because they're illegal, but due to a powerful censorship campaign by companies like Visa and Mastercard. This video exposes the frustrating reality of what's happening behind the scenes. I'll share my personal experiences with Visa's overwhelmed and frustrated customer service reps, who are resorting to hanging up on gamers to cope with the backlash. We'll also break down the official responses from Stripe and Mastercard, which reveal the true power dynamic at play and confirm that these financial giants are forcing their rules on platforms, giving them no choice but to remove games. This isn't just about gaming; it's a dangerous precedent for all digital content, and it shows the extreme power these payment companies have to control what we can buy and sell online.

In this video, we dive into the alarming trend of tens of thousands of legal games vanishing from platforms like Steam and Itch.io, not because they're illegal, but due to immense pressure from payment processors like Visa and Mastercard. We expose the contradiction between Visa's claims of not making "moral judgments" on legal purchases and their actions, which are forcing platforms to remove content under the vague guise of "risk." Discover how groups like "Collective Shout" influenced this crackdown and how the gaming community is now fighting back with a "Fighting Fire with Fire" campaign, demanding that payment processors stop dictating what legal content gamers can buy.

Valve just responded to a big problem on Steam. There's a new rule, Rule 15, which means big payment companies like Visa and MasterCard, banks, and even internet providers can now decide what games are allowed, not just Valve. This is a huge change and could affect many games in the future, even popular ones like GTA if they're thought to be too violent or against certain views, which has happened previously for different stores. The group called Collective Shout, who pushed for these changes, is now celebrating online, but they don't seem to understand why many gamers are upset; they're even saying mean things to gamers. What really bothers people is that Valve isn't fully in charge of its own platform anymore. Valve said they had to make this change because if they didn't, these payment companies might stop working with them entirely, meaning no one could buy anything on Steam. Interestingly, Valve is giving special credits to game makers whose games were removed, which suggests Valve might not fully agree with this new rule. It's unclear what Valve will do next, maybe even create their own "Valve Pay" system, because this issue is bigger than just games; it's about powerful companies deciding what we can and can't spend our money on.

Valve has quietly changed a major rule on Steam, and it's not what you might expect. Your credit card companies and other payment processors are now influencing what games can be sold on the platform. This new policy means major financial players like Visa and Mastercard are becoming content gatekeepers. We'll explain what happened, why Valve made this move, and what it could mean for the future of PC gaming.

Valve had a previous agreement with Rothschild in 2016 for a broad license to his patents. However, Rothschild's companies later demanded more money for patents Valve believed were already covered. This led Valve to sue Rothschild in Washington State, using its strong anti-patent troll laws, to challenge these claims.

This video explores how Steam's current user-friendly refund policy came to be. For years, getting a refund on Steam was almost impossible, as Valve's policy was "no refunds unless required by local law." This meant players were often stuck with buggy or unplayable games. We'll delve into the pivotal 2014 lawsuit filed by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) against Valve, which challenged this stance. The ACCC argued that Valve's policy violated Australian Consumer Law, which guarantees refunds for faulty products. While Valve initially claimed Australian laws didn't apply to them, the legal battle ultimately led to a significant shift. In June 2015, Valve introduced its global 14-day, 2-hour refund policy, a move widely believed to be a direct result of the ongoing ACCC case. We'll also cover the court rulings, Valve's subsequent $3 million fine, and the lasting impact this legal battle had on consumer rights in the gaming industry, setting a new standard for digital storefronts worldwide.

I also explore the potential future implications of this integration, particularly for upcoming Xbox handheld devices or next-generation consoles, suggesting where this cross-platform functionality could become more impactful. I conclude with my suggestions for potential improvements and details on how you can access this early feature through the Xbox Insider program.

It covers the upgrade from the basic FPS counter to a comprehensive tool that tracks system performance, including CPU usage, GPU usage, GPU temperature, GPU memory, and system RAM usage. The monitor displays detailed metrics such as native and AI-generated frames (DLSS or FSR), labeled in red to distinguish "fake frames" from actual game frame rates. It also includes minimum and maximum FPS indicators, a 90-second FPS graph showing average FPS and frame rate dips, and customizable overlay options like contrast, saturation, and background opacity. The video explains how to enable the performance monitor through Steam’s beta settings and notes its current limitations for Linux users. Additionally, it briefly mentions recent Steam accessibility updates for SteamOS and Valve’s ongoing efforts to improve platform accessibility. This video takes a look back at the Valve Store, a fan-favorite spot for picking up merch like Headcrab plushies, Chell jumpsuits, and gear from games like Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress 2, CSGO, and Dota 2. It covers the store’s nearly 20-year run, from its start after Half-Life 2 to its shutdown in 2023, highlighting cool features like the Steam Workshop, where fans designed their own merch. With the Raising the Bar 2 book, including Half-Life: Episode 3 details, coming in 2025 and no Valve Store to sell it, the video explores whether Steam might step up as a new platform for physical items or if the store could make a comeback for games like Half-Life 3 and Deadlock. It also touches on the Dota 2 Secret Shop still running and unreleased CS2 pins spotted at Valve’s offices, while noting the hassle of tracking down merch through third parties now.

This video, covers all the details about Valve wanting to make a Half Life and or Portal movie. Starting way back in 2010 when Gabe Newell himself told PCGamer that Hollywood’s pitches for a Half-Life film were just awful. Fast forward to 2013, and Gabe teams up with JJ Abrams—yep, the Star Wars and Lost legend—at the DICE Summit, announcing plans for both Half-Life and Portal movies. By 2016, JJ’s production company, Bad Robot, had writers hammering out scripts with Warner Bros. But then things got weird. In 2021, after Valve dropped the Dota: Dragon’s Blood Netflix series (thanks to Studio Mir), JJ revealed they were all-in on Portal but had shelved Half-Life. And by 2024, even the Half-Life live-action dream fizzled out when JJ stepped away. Have you ever wanted to buy the trademarks of hit video games like Deadlight, Rime, or Gylt? Tequila Works, a renowned game studio, is currently auctioning off its intellectual properties (IPs) on a European auction site due to insolvency and financial difficulties, a rare event in the gaming industry. After Tencent acquired a controlling stake in 2022, the studio faced staff cuts and canceled projects, leading to this unprecedented sale in 2024. The auction includes trademarks and IPs for released titles like Deadlight, Rime, Gylt, and The Invisible Hours, available on platforms like PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC, alongside unreleased game concepts such as The Ancient Mariner, Dungeon Tour, Brawler Crawler, and four original projects ready for production—Frozen Outpost, Mr. Huesitos, Hungry Cities, and Under a Logger’s Moon. Even the Tequila Works brand, including its website and social media accounts, is up for grabs, with bids starting at 3,000 euros. Current bids for top lots like Deadlight, with over 5 million copies sold, and Rime, with 4 million copies, exceed 20,000 and 15,000 euros, respectively, while the total auction value sits at 85,000 euros with over 20 days left until May 14th. This offers potential buyers, from rich individuals to big studios, a chance to own a piece of video game history and shape the legacy of Tequila Works.

Valve is now the most successful privately held game company in the world. How did a tiny startup, dismissed by some industry insiders early on as "a couple of Microsoft developers trying to build a game on top of id's engine" set itself apart? Monica Harrington was the founding CMO for Valve during a time when her day job included overseeing Games Marketing for Microsoft. This is her account of Valve's early days--from the initial strategy discussions she had with Valve founders Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington, to the audacious goals she and Gabe set for the launch of Valve's debut game Half-Life, to the early thinking behind Valve's bold platform strategy. Expect fun anecdotes, behind-the-scenes near-death startup drama, and a bit of reflection - all from the perspective of a woman who played a key role in the industry rocket that became Valve.

Curious about Valve’s unreleased Steambox? In this video, we dive deep into everything we know about the mysterious VR console that never hit the shelves—not to be confused with Steam Machines, which were gaming PCs, but a dedicated VR-ready PC designed to pair with headsets like the Valve Index. We explore how the Steambox was meant to stream VR content wirelessly using features like VRLink (think Quest’s Air Link) and a Share Screen function, offering a seamless VR gaming experience. Leaked patents reveal a console-like device with a circular display and proximity sensor, eerily similar to a unit spotted at Valve HQ during The Final Hours of Alyx tour. Confirmed by a Valve developer in a 2023 Discord chat shared by Sadlyitsbradley, the Steambox was real—an appliance VR box planned alongside the Index in 2019—but Proton wasn’t ready. Fast forward to 2025, with Proton 10 in alpha and KDE Plasma 6 in SteamOS 3.7, could the Steambox finally launch? We also cover Valve’s Deckard, their next standalone VR headset with inside-out tracking and Roy controllers, rumored at $1,200-$1,500, and how it might pair with the Steambox for high-fidelity PC VR gaming. Plus, we touch on the Fremont, another SteamOS console for living room gaming, and Valve’s hardware evolution—from the Steam Machine’s 10th anniversary to the Steam Controller 2. With Valve hinting at a bright hardware future in their 2024 Steamworks Review, 2025 could mark a big reveal.

In April 2025, Valve is rolling out a series of notable updates across its gaming lineup while gearing up for its annual Hawaii vacation. The video highlights significant developments, starting with Ricochet, where a community-driven effort spearheaded by Lambda Generation and VaultF4 pushed the game’s all-time player count from 95 to an impressive 353. For CS2, players can explore a revamped armory, fresh skin collections, and a new case featuring striking knife finishes like the Skeleton Sapphire, alongside hints of upcoming missions uncovered in recent files. Meanwhile, Dota 2 receives update 7.38C with detailed patch notes and fixes, Deadlock introduces a souls update that enlarges soul orbs among other changes, and the Half-Life 2 RTX demo benefits from crash fixes and a new tonemapper. On the hardware front, speculation is rife about Valve’s next steps: a developer was seen testing Half-Life Alyx with VR and Steam Deck icons, possibly tied to the rumored Deckard VR headset, while details of a Steambox PC VR—a SteamOS-powered device designed to streamline PC VR—suggest Valve is revisiting its hardware ambitions. The video also dives into Valve’s storied Hawaii vacation tradition, where the company flies roughly 800 to 1,000 employees and their families on chartered planes for an eight-day, all-expense-paid retreat coordinated by MCW Events, complete with beachside activities that reflect Valve’s unique culture.

Are you one of the 53% of Steam gamers still using Windows 10, wondering what Microsoft’s end of support on October 14, 2025, means for your gaming future? In this video, we dive deep into the massive shift happening in the gaming world as Microsoft officially terminates free security updates for Windows 10, leaving over half of Steam users—tracked in February 2025 stats—on a ticking clock. With Valve ending Steam support for Windows 7 and 8 in January 2024, and Windows 10’s 50% user base still strong despite a 10% drop by March 2025, gamers face a dilemma: upgrade to Windows 11, buy a new PC, pay $30/year for extended Windows 10 security updates until 2026, switch to Linux or SteamOS, or risk running an unsupported OS. Microsoft’s strict Windows 11 requirements—like TPM 2.0 and 8th-gen CPUs—lock out many PCs, frustrating gamers who can’t or won’t upgrade, especially with features like Copilot turning some away. We explore why so many stick with Windows 10, what Valve might do as Steam’s role evolves post-support, and real gamer reactions—from Linux converts to die-hard Windows 10 holdouts. Whether you’re eyeing hardware upgrades, debating SteamOS, or curious about Windows 10’s fate, this video breaks down your options before the October 2025 deadline.

Valve’s antitrust lawsuit is heating up! A bombshell new filing just dropped in the class action case against Steam and Valve, unveiling plans for a massive anti-Valve campaign.
The publishers suing Valve have filed an unopposed motion to amend the class period, approve a certification notice plan, and set a timeline to notify affected parties. This isn’t just paperwork—it’s the launchpad for a huge effort to reach game developers and publishers who sold on Steam between January 28, 2017, and November 25, 2024. The plan? Direct mail notices, email blasts, online ads, a dedicated lawsuit website, and a 24/7 toll-free hotline—all aimed at getting the word out about this legal battle.
The plaintiffs claim Valve’s Steam policies have stifled competition, jacked up game prices, and hurt developers and publishers.
Now it's up to the court to decide as we wait for this upcoming Anti-Valve campaign to begin.
