Gary, an Ohio native & high school friend of Barry Conrad (chief investigator of the case) was living in the Los Angeles area during 1989-90 at which time Conrad, Dr. Barry Taff & Jeff Wheatcraft investigated a woman's claims that her house in San Pedro, California was under siege by diabolical entities. After Conrad received a frantic phone call from Jackie Hernandez that all manner of ghostly phenomena had erupted in her home that night, Conrad, Boehm & Wheatcraft responded by traveling to her home to investigate. At first everything seemed tranquil, but while exploring the attic space, Jeff Wheatcraft was suddenly attacked in the blink of an eye and hung by an invisible force on to one of the attic's middle rafters. Boehm saved his life by pulling down on a nail protruding from the rafter holding Wheatcraft in order to release an old clothesline cord that was entangled around the photographer's neck leaving noticeable burn marks. Barry Conrad, Jackie Hernandez & Susan Castaneda encamped in the laundry room below had just heard unexplained snapping sounds preceded by the manifestation of an amber orb of light. The case has become recognized as one of the most terrifying ghost stories in American history.
