My Workbasket
How to Do the Double Crochet Stitch
updated
This is how I fold a fun 4x6 pocket card from a single sheet of 12x12 paper.
You'll need:
Something to cut with
Something to score with
a sheet of 12x12 cardstock ( I like double-sided, but it doesn't really matter)
and some glue.
This is the same way I did the card for my recent Winter Wonderland card video. You can see that video here: youtu.be/YyI9Jr0LmT4
You can also check out my website at http://www.myworkbasket.com

I broke this video into parts so that you can choose how much of my tale you listen to. If you're just here for the craft ideas I understand and included a quick clip of just the bare details. If you'd like to listen to my tale of love and woe just watch the entire video.

It's not scrapbook related, but the Usborne Books and More "The Unhurry Book" appears on this video. Only because I'm messy and didn't fully clean my table off before recording. I am an independent rep for UBAM and you can find the book here (I will make a commission off of this sale) The fact that it shows was unintentional, but since it did I might as well tell you where to get it. u9554.myubam.com/p/8504/unhurry-book-the-ir

In this video, I show off my "Magpie Jar" aka cute glass jar of random wibbly bits. I also show off some recent papercrafts and explain a bit about how they are done.
In editing, I realized the camera doesn't always have the best angle or focus, but unfortunately, if I re-record it then I've already seen the Magpie Jar and you don't get to see it for the first time with me. So I decided to just go with it.

In the video, I mention my vintage set several times as a 70's set. It's technically a 70's to 80's combo, with some patterns from I believe 1979 to 1982. I wouldn't personally spend money on a set from the later 80's. I'd be apt to buy another earlier 70s set, since I know the patterns would be different.
So anyway, there's my thoughts, and I started a playlist called "Maybe this is helpful?" just to put it on. :)

The projects include #tunisiancrochet #ktelknitter #lutterloh #sewing and #crochet
Would love to hear from you in the comments about what you're working on in your crafty world!
In this video, I chat about my thoughts after FINALLY purchasing the system.
Also, I say "yesterday's video" but I'm spacing it out a bit more before it goes live. If you watch right away don't feel like you missed something. :)

I also issue an apology to you for some previous things I've done and how I've gone about some things, and I discuss how I hope to move forward.

The Friday Flip is a time for us to hang out and chat, while I pretend you're sitting across from me and we're sipping coffee and showing each other weird stuff in random magazines from my collection. So, chat with me in the comments below. It can be about anything from this video or anything at all, nothing is off-topic because my brain doesn't really do topics. :)
I hope you enjoy this blast from the past, and thanks for watching!

So if you need to clean your table off, do it now while you watch/listen and we'll be cleaning and chatting buddies. :)
I start with a table so full I can barely use my tripod, chat about crafts, homeschooling, art classes, ADHD, life, and then end up with a table where I can actually work!
I do mention Thriftbooks and here is a link for that. It's not an affiliate link, but it is a "refer a friend and you both get perks" type of link. So if you use it I do get a possible kickback of some kind, and if I do then you do as well!

I do still have a month of my SOS to go and am definitely cracking back down on myself. I also feel like I've made some long-term changes and that even after it's over I'll be better about what I buy.

You'll be seeing this creature on the channel again as I occasionally make outfits and new things for it. I don't want to put them outside naked, so I'm currently making a quick top hat and bow tie while I upload this video.
If you also love these wonderful creatures I was surprised that I couldn't find a Facebook group for them, so I created one! facebook.com/groups/528970421678550

I find something weird, wild, and maybe wonderful. I spend a good chunk of this video downright mind-blown speechless. I discover what is easily the wildest Friday Flip find yet (moving Cucumbers as Gifts to the second-place spot) and possibly the wildest thing I've ever seen period. You guys I have seen some THINGS. This downright just blew my mind.
Aunt Lydia's Rug Yarn pattern booklet with unknown Copyright date. Some of the patterns and styles are a bit all over the place, so I have a hard time guessing a date.
Chat with me in the comments below about things from this issue that you found interesting!
Also, the weird find is growing on me. I can't say I'd make it, but IF I found a well-made oen in a thrift store, I would probably buy it. I'd put it near my coconut dentist Mr. Bab.
Thanks for watching! Have a great day!

And these adorable houses are my results! I can't give a full tutorial for the houses since I followed her directions, but the class was really affordable and I recommend it!
Some other things to note:
I reference this other video of mine:
youtu.be/v2mIF7VX7w0
Also, my website is back!!! I will be posting most regularly here on Youtube, but anywhere from 2-4 times a month, I will be posting on my website. My website will have a focus on patterns, tutorials, and projects I am entering in challenges/contests. My Youtube channel will feature all of those things, PLUS vlog chats, Friday Flip, quick tips, etc. Essentially everything on my website will also be on Youtube, but everything on Youtube will NOT be on my website. Also, anytime I create a pattern and discuss it on YouTube the actual pattern itself will be on my website.
http://www.myworkbasket.com
With this exact set of houses being located here:
(will be adding this link in just a few minutes after this video goes live.)
(This video is a redo. It originally went live a few hours ago and I realized that something went wrong at least one huge chunk was cut out. So I removed it, re-edited it, and am posting it again. Hopefully with better results this time!)
As always, thanks for watching, and have a great day!!!

The video is recorded sideways because I need a new tripod set-up for my table. Sorry. Just have to deal with it for now.
I used some of these papers in a class I took online, and I'll be posting that video in a few days. I'll add a link here for it when it goes live.

This week's Friday Flip is an issue of The Workbasket magazine from August 1987.
Something I chat about this time- how juice used to come in cans, timeless patterns, cookbooks, and a recipe I misread as "mop water" (and the correct reading wasn't much better.)
Chat with me in the comments about your thoughts on this issue!
Thanks for watching and have a great day!

I also review two great new craft books! The reviews start around the 16-minute mark if want to fast forward to them. I review Felt and Fur and Cute Crochet Woodland Creatures.

I wanted to do better but life is life. KWIM? Check out all the other videos in the hop and I'm sure you'll see some amazing stuff!

The video showing these final several cards is a bit delayed, and I discovered one is missing, but it's finally here, a quick show-off video of the final cards.
Some notes:

The magazine is Making Cards & Papercraft magazine.

The very beginning and end of the video are a bit shakey. Sorry about that! I need to check my camera settings because its stabilization seems a bit off anytime I go handheld.
There are going to be several follow-up videos to this because I show a box of books and magazines that I'm going to record separately, and I am going to do a more in-depth video of just the knitting machines and supplies.
I'd LOVE to hear from you in the comments! Which items that I found are your favorites?

I said I'd share the source for my printables, Papercrafter Magazine.
The general link to everything is here:
papercraftermagazine.co.uk
The exact link to the download I used for most (all) of my cards this week is here:
papercraftermagazine.co.uk/downloads/free-american-crafts-scrapbooking-printables
I love using these mini bows on things like doll clothes, cards, etc. Any time I need a perfect little bow. I've also done larger forks, like a serving fork, to make larger sizes, or you could even hold tape two forks together so they create a larger area with more tines and work it all together in the same way. The trick is to just use the width of the fork for your finished size, and then work in the middle space for the center of your bow.
Keep in mind that British terms are also used in historic magazines and books, so if you use old old books or magazines for patterns then the terminology is most likely in British terms. For example, my old Needlework and Crafts from the 20s use British terms, as do my reprints of Weldon's Practical Needlework. I'm not exactly sure when the American terminology really started to come into play. In my collection, I have both with no specific years where I said "Oh I can see it switching over."
Tell me in the comments your thoughts on this issue, especially on the cucumbers!!! As always, thanks for watching and have a great day!!!
Also, SOS is a fitting abbreviation, because my stash needs HELP. I think very little of my full stash is actually even in this room!
