Let’s compare such a typical set up with a full sized quarter wave in a portable situation on 20 metres to find out!

The good old “Tank Whip” - the 9 feet (2.74m) long two-piece CB quarter-wave that works great on 10m and can provide coverage on all HF bands from 40m upwards along with a loading coil / screwdriver antenna system that will punch holes into a small stock whip (around a metre long) that you’d get with such antennas.
