early game movement can be improved by a few seconds from using niche mechanics that i did not figure out how to do properly until later in the run but overall i am happy with how it turned out
side note that FDS is "fast disc speed" which is a setting on ps2 to shorten load times, this tas is measured as if it had fds turned on
thank you to LuminescentSky, Peteguy100, hopKid, WaffleWizard, TheHolographicSquid, n30n6r33n, Dayoman and rest of community

was curious on what the rta limit was, there are no tas-only strats that save time btw (except optimal wheelie turning)
also sorry for low quality recording idk what i am doing

i started this TAS a few months ago and got burned out of it after a while, i came back once i found out the games addresses for bug spawns had been found (essentially i could see what bugs had been spawned from specific movement/delays from anywhere on the map). this helped out tremendously and i would have probably never finished this run due to how tedious golden net is without it, it motivated me to just spend alot of time to finish off the TAS. i started using this around halfway through the run (28/64)
*time saves*
- there can always be a better map, im much happier with this map compared to fishing though
- there can always be better bug spawn rng
- accidentally buying the watering can, i think it was due to a route change and i forgot i had it. took up an inventory space and wasted time from buying it
- peacock butterfly was specifically the only bug i couldnt get to spawn without refreshing the map after hours of trying ~10s time loss + the map refresh i did during june day couldve been avoided for another 10ish seconds
- ending on longhorn beetle instead of elephant beetle so i wouldnt need to loop back to palm trees, i couldnt get elephant beetle to spawn and even if i did catching hercules, elephant and fly would cause the scorpion to despawn since i manipulated it to spawn much earlier but maybe if i got another scorpion spawn close to longhorn?
- not selling axe and cutting down another tree closer to palm trees later on
*random stuff*
- at one point in the run during a bug refresh THREE birdwings spawned at once??
- sub 1 hour is possible if you were to make a golden rod and net tas, i might in around 10 years
- this run is much better than my golden rod TAS
if you wanna skip to fishing - 12:30
RTA WR - 3:09:29
number in brackets is amount of frames you have to catch each fish from first frame theres a splash to the last frame you can tap A to catch it. inputs seem to be delayed by 3 frames on this game, atleast on tas so add +3 frames for the coded time into the game

first non mkwii tas, got kinda burned out from it
basically just did this tas for fun/demonstration, not extremely optimised but its pretty good considering how long i spent on it. map was very boring so i wasnt motivated to get an amazing one, maybe if i do gold net
also sorry about the glitched ray image on checklist
and for forgetting to sell shirt !
Authors - sorry, ego
ego - optimised turnarounds on all laps
sorry - everything else
-new start slide slower due to a worse angle not letting you slide on ice as well
-slightly faster l1 clip theoretically possible but i couldnt get it after countless hours so i moved on
-drift after clips is needed due to the more left angle i have from landing lower clips, faster bc of saving time from sliding on ice
time save over cf's old lap comes from not needing to drop wheelie at all meaning i can drop my wheelie much earlier and get a very low clip
qm hell
thanks ejay b cuz yeah
i didn't realise how unoptimised my wall boost really was and mkwii PENIS found my rksys for this that i lost and decided to try. he got a really good improvement on it and grinded it down to around a 705 where we took turns cutting off 1ms at a time till he finally got the 699 after alot of grinding
ty to him for recording too
couldnt get a good clip on lap 2, i hate this track. also having a slightly right angle at the end saves about 1ms because the finish line is angled diagonally
i did basically all driving on laps 1 and 2 with mkwii PENIS helping with some optimisations
mkwii PENIS also did the l3 glitch setup and the glitch itself with me optimising the last 2 turn arounds also ty for recording
