It's time for another Handmade Disney Bound!If you've never heard of Disney Bounding, it's a fun way to express your love for Disney through fashion, where you create an outfit inspired by a character using everyday clothing and accessories, rather than a full-blown costume. It's a popular activity at Disney parks and other public places, allowing adults to enjoy the magic of dressing up while adhering to park rules that restrict full costume. I love incorporating my handmade wardrobe into my Disney Bounds and setting myself the challenge of creating knit and crochet pieces for bounds I have in mind.In this video, I take you through the process of creating the Vacation Vest by Park N Knit for an Eeyore themed Disney Bound. I wasn't even sure I'd put out a video for this week but then thought, "Maybe if I film a vlog, it will help me not just rot and cry in bed, today". So that's what I did. And while it wasn't the most productive day of my life by a long shot (which is ok, our worth is not determined by our productivity) and yup, I was still sad by the end of the day and will continue to be deep in my grief for a while, I definitely found pockets of peace and happiness throughout the day. The Persephone Dress | Wrapping Up The Summer Romance CAL + A Night Out With Hades And Persephone Knitting Tipsy 2024-11-03 | "You are the kindest thing that ever happened to me, even if that is not how our tale is told. When everyone else told me I was destined to be a forgotten nymph that nurtured flowers and turn meadows gold, you saw that the ichor that resides in me demanded its own throne. You showed me how a love like ours can turn even in the darkest, coldest realm into the happiest of homes." ~ Nikita Gill, "Persephone To Hades"Persephone, the Goddess of Spring and Agriculture AND the Queen of the Underworld, Death, and Rebirth. She's kind of a badass! And I SO enjoyed designing and creating a crochet dress to honor her dichotomous nature.I created this dress for the Summer Romance CAL hosted by @crochetcakes and @CrochetLuna . The CAL has long since ended, but I was happily able to finish this project just as the final harvest begins and Persephone begins her descent to the underworld to rejoin her beloved Hades. My First Sewing Project | Knitting Tipsy | Conquering my fear of perfection and the sewing machine Knitting Tipsy 2024-09-08 | This week was a new moon which is the perfect time for a new project or new adventure!!! I decided to tackle something that's been on my list of things to learn for years now: SEWING. I don't know why, but something about sewing really intimidates me. I get really anxious when I don't know how to do something and I'm afraid I'll "mess it up". You'll see throughout the video that I second guess myself A LOT, including for some things that are shockingly basic. This is part of my self doubt/trauma response, so please be kind as you're watching. I feel like some parts of this video are a little cringey watching myself be SO full of self doubt, but I also feel that there are probably a lot of others out there who feel that way, so I'm showing it anyways so those people know they're not alone. Yes, it's just sewing. But it's also something new and a little scary. And it's ok to be scared, to doubt yourself, and still try the thing anyways.
