Hey everyone! I know it's been over a year since any progress was shown off for the translation, but I've been hard at work! The game is somewhere between 75% and 80% translated as of 11-12-2019! I'm going to release a beta public patch on January 1st, 2020! I'd like to release the final, complete translation before New Horizons releases.
Pledging on Patreon helps me offset the cost of translating this game, as it's insanely time consuming. I've spent well over 1,500 hours between reverse engineering, tool creation, and translating! I am the only person actively working on the project.

Thanks to @yourpalfox for making this F3 trailer! Might be revised before the submission![Old WR] Animal Crossing: Wild World All Debts Speedrun in 34:44Cuyler2018-09-09 | Using a newly discovered buffer overflow glitch in the Japanese version 1.0 of Animal Crossing: Wild World, I was able to get the world record! Except it's invalid since it was run on an emulator. Also this was my second speedrun ever, so it's pretty bad. Sub 30 is very possible. I might do another run in the future.
Anyways, the process to replicate this glitch for yourself is as follows: Step 1) During nook's letter chore (in the Post Office so you can hear the bell sound effect), set the letter to the correct sender, then quit out of the editor and place it in the last letter slot. Step 2) Delete the 3 characters after the animal's name Step 3) Put 4 spaces after the animal's name Step 5) Put 4 spaces before the animal's name Step 6) Put your cursor before the 4 spaces in front of the animal's name and then spam a character until the animal's name disappears Step 7) Move your cursor as far to the right as it'll go, it should go off screen at least partially Step 8) Now just press and hold a character until you hear the bell sound Step 9) Bank the majority of the bells. If you don't, the next time you spend any, it'll drop it to 200,000 max.Animal Forest e+ Translation Progress - July 2018Cuyler2018-07-15 | Patreon link: patreon.com/Cuyler Animal Crossing Modding Discord invite code: discord.gg/HcpymVA Translation Progress Spreadsheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1M55WDpmXR2svvRuzkOtDvmAQqxxodHUFRxncgULhNBg
Quite a lot has been done between now and the last progress video from March! Over 4,000 dialogs were translated, numerous bugs fixed, and tons of other small things!
The next progress video will take a while to get out since it'll mostly showcase the other events & villager dialog. Thanks for everyone's support!
Special thanks to MelonSpeedruns for the awesome video template.Animal Crossing Homebrew Loader ShowcaseCuyler2018-07-13 | Get FIX94's Animal Crossing Homebrew Loader here: github.com/FIX94/ac-exploit-gc/releases
Special thanks to FIX94 for creating the homebrew loader & James Chambers for initially discovering the Arbitrary Code Execution exploit.Animal Crossing ACE DemonstrationCuyler2018-07-07 | Arbitrary code execution (ACE) has been found in Animal Crossing! ACE allows us to modify the GameCube's RAM however we like. This video shows ACE enabling zurumode 2 (developer "super" mode) and a function I wrote that randomly teleports the user while they hold Z.
ACE is achieved using the NES Memory Card ROM loading function. I created command tags on fake NES ROMs that wrote code to specific areas. One of these codes is a loader that takes the NES "ROM" and copies it or runs it as PowerPC assembly code. An explanation video will come in the future!
I'll be uploading two more videos in the coming week or two, so look forward to them. They won't have anything to do with the translation, though.Animal Forest e+ Translation Progress - March 2018Cuyler2018-03-06 | The Discord Channel link is: discord.gg/HcpymVA
Almost the entire opening act of DnMe+ has been translated. After all NPC text has been translated and I fix the bugs introduced by making item names 16 characters long, I will be releasing the first patch. The video was recorded 11-29-2017 via Dolphin Emulator. The mod runs fine on a GameCube/Wii/Wii U.Animal Crossing: Population Growing Eye Mod System TestCuyler2017-09-10 | The eyes are normally supposed to be brown. You can see what the original looks like here: nookipedia.com/w/images/3/37/Animal_Crossing-e_2-P01_%28Boy_%281%29%29.jpg
This was a test to see if the game would run on real hardware. Sadly I don't have the ability to test it on my GameCube, so I used my Wii U. Hopefully with more research, some pretty interesting mods could be made.Animal Crossing: Population Growing Eye Color ModCuyler2017-09-10 | This is just a sample of what can be done. Texture editing is also possible, but I didn't take the time to do so. There are still a few more things that need to be done, but hopefully they'll be accomplished soon.Animal Crossing: GC - Four Layered TownCuyler2017-02-14 | Showing off a four layered town I use for testing. I recently found out about this additional, unused layer when documenting acres for ACSE (my Animal Crossing Save Edtior.) You can get it here: github.com/Cuyler36/ACSE/releases
