Works really well in native stereo with surprisngly the RT shadows, reflections and occlusions on High with DLSS Balanced performing pretty well for 72HZ. Looks gorgeous, similar to little nightmares. Gameplay works best with the pawn attached and then offset to a good distance but some QTE events and changes of perspective/cutscenes that can get in the way. Probably best option is a very close, closer and default camera save slots to switch between. Decoupled pitch is also good here as a slight angle, although some specific areas you are supposed to be looking down as it changes the fixed angle, but the audio clues will point you to looking in the right direction.
Pretty cool CRPG set in the roman empire, similar to Pathfinder or Pillars of Eternity but with that historical skin. Works pretty well only some minor shaders in one eye but not enough to move me off native. Main issue with playabillity comes with finding a good position for the UI in combat and dialogue. A mixture of decoupled pitch, one without for the overworld and adjusting the UI down or attaching it to your look made it better. Would have to sink more time into the combat systems to figure out which position was most comfortable though.

Really cool RTS with stellar gamepad support in the Aliens universe. Works well with the only issue being the 2D cutscenes displaying incorrectly, can be solved by just taking your headset off, watching it on your monitor and putting the headset back on for now.
Decoupled pitch, adjusted UI with it slightly offset to be lower is a good sweet spot for this game. Made it a tiny world scale and similar to a Sci-Fi Demeo :)
Performance is good with lots of options and FSR 2.0 on quality and all ultra settings was getting smooth performance. Attaching to the player pawn here attaches you to the blue cursor. Moving it has a kind of animation lag on the camera so not really something I'd recommend trying. Get too low at the Marine's height you can see a the solid face of the back culled ceilings of the tunnels. So keep a relatively strategic distance away. The tiny world scale makes that harder to get yourself in as it looks a bit scuffed.
Otherwise really gorgeous game with nice effects, more than you'd expect in a typical RTS on steam. On a decent -38% sale on steam right now too.

Works perfectly, just a visual novel but in 3D environments. Characters are 2D sprites like Boltgun. Very cool, kind of reminds me of the things people make in Quill for Quest/Oculus. Letterboxing when there are songs but just hid the GUI. Whenever you have to make a choice there is an option within the game so you don't have a time limit on them. Otherwise letterboxing not too distracting, lots of other jank you can see but still entertaining. Art style looks nice and crisp. Some bloom effects in some scenes can be disabled with light culling that were only in one eye but not found more. Currently on sale.
Works perfectly, only had some small issues seeing some slight differences in shadow maps on the snow. Stutters a bit when loading new areas but otherwise performance is great. Interestingly first person and the 3DOF motion controls work well in this when you are the boy and firing snowballs at things. Otherwise would probably just stick to the third person.

Really great and close to perfect, the UI is immaculate unlike Tekken 7 which had a lot of problems thankfully.
Just the demo at the moment but likely will be even more polished on release. Compared to Tekken 7 the UI is flawless everywhere and the game is gorgeous. Lots of options from FSR and DLSS as well, including some stuff like Saturation. No online for now so will have to see how it behaves injecting on the full release. Super fun though as is and surprisingly polished in VR, makes me suspicious they'll have a PSVR2 or VR mode like they did before.
*When you try it make sure to be playing in 120hz or 60hz due to the 60fps cap, which is why my experience was so much smoother in my second video testing Virtual Desktop. Which is the reason I thought I had something wrong with my framerate as had my headset on 72hz. Super smooth on Ultra with DLSS Quality when I ran at 120hz on Virtual Desktop*
Small indie horror game in UE5. Has a lot of post processing effects like unrecord to make it look like body cam footage so as a result it looks bad in VR. Removed via creating an Engine.ini file and dropping it in the C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GraveyardShift\Saved\Config\Windows gets rid of this.
3DOF motion controls were working fine, you did have to go and Enable UObjectHook, Common Objects, Acknowledged Pawn, Components CameraComponent Camera, bUsePawnControlRotation. Not currently persistent so had to update every time there was a level load. You may also want to raise the actor position slighty as it's supposed to be a bodycam I think. The Callisto Protocol - UEVRWaifu Enjoyer2023-12-19 | Device: Meta Quest 3 via CableLink 3kx3k 90hz Controls: PS5 DualSense PC: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X + 4090 + 64GB RAM - Injection: OpenXR Native Stereo/Synched Sequential and Skip Draw UE 4.27.2
Been asked for a while to check this out, this is just the vanilla game played with a gamepad. Quite playable even with quite high graphics settings in DX11. Native stereo performs better but regularly has distracting issues not in both eyes like some shadow maps and floating UI effects. Found synched sequential not too bad, and AMD FSR on quality looked good in a number of places. Some areas performance dipped a bit too much so would have to find a good happy sweet spot. Wish it had DLSS, or some work to fix the shaders that are only in one eye. Surprised how much fun it was and with a tiny world scale the details look extremely crisp and sharp, although even normal world scale it looks gorgeous. The Callisto Protocol - UEVR (WIP 6DOF First Person tests)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-19 | Just trying this out for the first time and showing along with explaining some of my workflow of doing the first person attachments. Will probably do another video of just the vanilla game in third person with a controller as well. Does seem like a potentially good base for further modding though!
Okay in Native Stereo in that riot mode. That orange horizontal flickering from some UI element can be disabled by turning down the antialiasing CVAR.
Looking through everything and couldn't find any kind of 'CurrentGun' type property as using the Children Property you run into having all the weapons overlap somewhat and might be worse during the long run.
The flashlight seems to be slight off on world scale as well, otherwise some bare bones here of what could be a good base to work off.
Some other footage of the game praydog captured a while ago: youtu.be/AaJAw6wHXCo?si=rrISMon1HXlRPXkRADACA - UEVR (6DOF motion controls left and right hand re-visit!)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-19 | *dev update: they let me know you can just turn off 'highlight props' in the game settings.* The latest build fixes the issue this had with persistence on attach weapons and how things would overlap. Very playable now and the shooting feels really good. Cool into the radius vibe with this one. Also attached the grav hand to my left hand for a bit of extra immersion play even though it is a bit useless XD
Some small niggles like the outline on the interactable objects being offset slightly could be fixed by going in and turning off the visibility on that effect but didn't mind it too much. Very fun little game and worth putting on your wishlist!

Works great like the other Dragon Quest mainline game. This one seems perfectly fine in Native stereo. Some cutscenes have some letterboxing and you can see some hacky methods the devs used to put some post processing in the frame. Like other games any zooming doesn't affect your view so you see everything outside the intended frame. Otherwise the game is classic Dragon Quest with a hint of the most recent Pokemon games, using monsters abilities and some real time combat like the tales games.
Found the game seemed to crash then turning on the temporal upscaler. Had to delete the config as would crash on startup with it already set in the previous run.
First person was quite good and just attach to pawn and then hide the character mesh. But in this kind of game you wouldn't really want to be in first person, the areas are so wide and massive that the tiny world scale works really well here. So adjusted my UI to match making it smaller and bringing it closer.
store.steampowered.com/app/2021210/DRAGON_QUEST_TREASURESDaymare: 1994 Sandcastle - UEVR (First Person 6DOF Motion Controls)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-16 | Trying this out again with the full version. Really cool in first person and 6DOF motion controls but a few niggles when doing this.
Firstly even with 3DOF controls and the camera attachment you will need to detach and reattach during some cutscenes. Found when going back to my attachment with a detach and reattach for the first person had to just remember the correct height to quickly get back to where I was.
The game has the same problem as Aliens Fireteam as when using the 'CurrentWeapon' property to attach they seem to named the same so overlap. Although despite this the 6DOF motion and shooting feels great.
Turned on room scale movement, 3DOF aiming. Quite a few times you are in cutscenes and can get pretty motion sickness with any small rotational movement of the controller moving the world.
Found when in first person still getting some world movement like in cutscenes but enough movement to make me uneasy after a longer play through. Tried noSkeletalUpdate but didn't stop it.
Interestingly in the first area as you infiltrate Area 51 both of the weapons when attaching are aligned in the same axis. However in the next section and first combat with the electro zombies, found that the weapons were 90 degrees apart from each other. No problem shooting just looks even more janky as you have to pick whether you want the shotgun or SMG to be at right angles in the middle of your weapon.
Otherwise in first person a number of puzzles I did were completely fine. Just some small interactions and cutaway sections you would want to detach the camera quickly for. Like analysis of objects.
Feels really atmospheric in first person though, especially with the torch. Really nails the 90's Resident Evil aesthetic. Lots of easter eggs pointing at the team behind this doing a dino crisis type inspired game as well.
This and the first game I would recommend wishlisting! store.steampowered.com/app/1530470/Daymare_1994_SandcastleArcRunner - UEVR (6DOF First Person motion control tests)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-16 | Revisiting this one. Really cool and gorgeous rogue like third person shooter. Probably one of the best looking examples of something entirely made of Synty assets.
Generally works perfectly in third person with a gamepad but doing some more tests getting it perfect in first person with motion controls. Lots of meshes to hide so you can get a very playable and fun first person with 3DOF controls.
So if you are happy with just that it is very easy to configure. This video goes on to find where the best attachments would be for 6DOF controls. Found the AllWeapon Property is the best at the moment as not affected by the character mesh animations, but the downside is once you switch weapons you lose the attachment persistence.
Think some further adjustments with a UEVR plugin and this will be an extremely easy recommend for the full fat VR experience.
store.steampowered.com/app/1575830/ArcRunnerDungeons of Sundaria - UEVR (First Person with 6DOF motion controls)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-16 | Testing this again due to the 1.0 release. Was working perfectly before in Early Access and have another video on the channel playing in 3rd person. The game still working perfectly with good gamepad support. Now with the new features in UEVR was able to quickly get a first person mode up and running with 6DOF motion controls. You can even have a main weapon attached in the right hand and an offhand weapon in the left. Projectiles and attacks still coming 6DOF controlled out of the right though. So best played this way for the ranged classes like the Archer and Wizard. Coop so people can play third person or first person with you.Bleak Faith: Forsaken - UEVR (revisit)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-16 | Just revisiting this at the request of some people in my previous video and on Discord as it's currently on sale. Still performs very badly even on my high end rig. Playable with everything on Low and DLSS, although the game looks quite a lot worse without at least Shadows on medium which is what I settled on here. Requires a toggle for the Fog quality in the game graphics settings to work in Native Stereo. Still a few minor ambient occlusion shadows on rocks but very minor so stayed in Native Stereo throughout. You also need to make sure to have the volumetric cloud option in the cvars unticked otherwise will be visible in one eye through the horizon.
UI in the game still looks very placeholder and the combat is quite difficult to get into. The new uObjectHook ability to attach to the player pawn removes a lot of the camera zooms which I found an improvement. Still a very beautiful game but I think if you were considering buying this on sale I would consider Lies of P (super well optimised and amazing game) or Lords of the Fallen if you have a beefy PC and want another fantasy Souls-like.Aliens: Fireteam Elite - UEVR (6DOF longer testing)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-15 | Longer video just marvelling at the IK that is still working with the attachments. In this try out some of the scopes and the smart gun. Also played around with the offsets of the camera to get a better position. Interestingly the IK of the hands still works when you have the weapons attached. Moving the camera forward does prevent you seeing the weapon on the back.
Some really promising groundwork here for any modder that wanted to take this further. Think this would be a top tier VR game with some love and attention. Separate two handed grip positions on the guns, fixing the name issue where it causes them to overlap, fixing the scopes, inventory wheels and menus being accessed by touch pointers etc.Returnal - UEVR (6DOF motion workflow improvements with CurrentGun)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-13 | Again like the Aliens and Trepang2 videos today I instead of attach to the CharacterMesh as a whole I use the property current weapon, although here just called CurrentGun, where under that is the component for the mesh which I can attach. Feels a lot less springy and more like a native first person VR game. Much improved compared to the demos I gave the playtesters a couple of weeks ago, so sorry guys, just discovered this now with praydog's help.
store.steampowered.com/app/1649240/ReturnalAliens: Fireteam Elite - UEVR (6DOF motion controls improved attachment workflow)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-13 | Similar to Trepang2, attaching to the current weapon 0, 1 and 2 in the Current Weapon property makes this a lot more fun. Removes some issues like the weapons on your back getting in your view and also just makes the guns more accurate in general. Still a bit of jank due to the gameplay mechanics inherantly with the LT aim down sights.
As the meshes are all the same name you end up with this completely amalgamated death machine gun combining all your current weapon slots. Still kind of cool and fun to play even with that shortcoming. Should persist amongst any different loadout as it's affecting anything in your primary, secondary or sidearm slot.
The playtesters a couple of weeks ago were playing with the adjustments based on the character mesh so they were a bit floaty. A lot more accurate and able to play the game more effectively like this. Some really cool moments in this first level like looking back and seeing floods of aliens swarm into that big generator room in first person.
some longer footage: youtu.be/JSetWsCUjnITrepang2 - UEVR (6DOF controls attaching via Current Weapon property)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-13 | More accurate and satisfying way to attach the motion controls by going through the current weapon property. Needs two adjustments or more like in Aliens where you have more weapons. But the accuracy is retained without needing the bNoSkeletalUpdate bool toggled on to help prevent character animations influencing the shooting and making it feel "springy".
Other method with disabling the skeletalupdate and some longer gameplay: youtu.be/xBdP6DZMREoDusk Diver 酉閃町 - UEVRWaifu Enjoyer2023-12-12 | Device: Meta Quest 3 via CableLink 3kx3k 90hz Controls: PS5 DualSense PC: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X + 4090 + 64GB RAM - Injection: OpenXR Native Stereo and Skip Draw UE 4.22.3
Works perfectly and runs really well. Cool stylised JRPG/beat-em-up. Sequel out as well with rumours of a thirdl. Playing it in VR certainly upped my interest for this one. I turned depth of field off when messing around with new camera angles, first person was interesting but wasn't able to quickly find the inverse hull under the character mesh. Decoupled pitch is a good one in this as well.
Works perfectly, a surprising game that wasn't on my radar. Has over 3k reviews that are very positive since it's launch in August this year. Open world sandbox RPG with a Cultivation/Wuxia kind of vibe. Combat is done by quickly reacting to, clicking and dragging icons to make moves and is turn based. Lots of depth to this I think including lots of crafting, building and simulation stuff to dig into. Had to pass the mouse cursor through with the UEVR menu but otherwise was completely fine. Performance seemed good but not sure what it's like in an end game world save file.
store.steampowered.com/app/1696440/The_Matchless_KungfuScars Above - UEVR (6DOF tests)Waifu Enjoyer2023-12-12 | Testing first person attachment, which works perfectly here with the 3DOF controls. Just attach to relative and adjust the slider to the character's face. You can then hide quite a lot like hair, face, backpack, torso and legs if needed.
The weapon meshes I couldn't find under components but was able to locate them with the overlapper. Seems to have the same problem as Aliens Fireteam Elite in that the different weapons have the same name. So attaching them was perfect for just a single one, but then switching to another would result in the same 3DOF control and would be hidden as the character arms and gun seem tied to the general charactermesh0 name.
By and by this game runs really well and looks excellent in Native Stereo. performance is good as well.Sackboy: A Big Adventure - UEVRWaifu Enjoyer2023-12-12 | Device: Meta Quest 3 via CableLink 3kx3k 90hz Controls: PS5 DualSense PC: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X + 4090 + 64GB RAM - Injection: OpenXR Native Stereo and Skip Draw UE 4.25.1
Works really really well, but does require some adjustments first. The PS5 Dualsense support is great with haptics but you won't be able to use the L3+R3 stick shortcut and gamepad shortcuts. Just started it with steam input first to get everything configured.
Interestingly even some high end features like the RT shadows and reflections all seem to work well in both eyes. For performance though found some of the more basic screen space ones just looked just as good if not better. Some items had some shadows in one eye but can be fixed for native stereo by Dynamic shadows on low.
The UI is a physical object and viewable when using the default view, looks better with decoupled pitch. The UI is super basic though lives and score so really not a deal breaker if you find a new position where you can't see them.
Attaching the camera to the player pawn works really well in this. Found it much more comfortable to play like that with decoupled pitch (as per the first gameplay section).
Interestingly the objects are scaled appropriately and are by default a tiny minature size. World size scaling can let you see an entire map which is kind of cool.
A few annoying letterboxes during cutscenes but not a dealbreaker. When using the attachment to pawn you can end up in some wierd places briefly when using jump pads. Still super fun and think I would recommend this to a lot of people. Especially for multiplayer.
Made some adjustments to lower the black level and it really popped more on the Quest 3.
Pretty cool, @PanterACFH discovered some .ini adjustments worth noting. Just put these here in the engine.ini and after saving go into the properties and make read only. C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Exit8\Saved\Config\Windows
Pretty cool game where you have to get to the 8th exit. If you keep going forward when the corridor has any changes it puts you back to 0. Managed to get up to exit 4. Not sure if any of visual post processing removed in the step above features in any of the "differences" you need to spot. Seemingly just guessed a few times as seemed identical, although a lot of detail to remember each run through.
Perfomance isn't that great but still very playable with lower resolutions. Updated to works well in the spreadsheet. Played with decoupled pitch and normal gamepad movement as the 3DOF was moving the pawn and couldn't get it to not do that even with attaching the camera and couldn't find an appropriate boolean control to disable that.

Surprised myself how much I kind of enjoyed this, despite knowing this is lauded as one of the worst games of the year. Make sure to change the subsurfacescattering cvar to 0 from 1 to fix the game for Native Stereo. You see me doing that at the start of the video. There is a quality slider for Gollum's hair, think this fixed it as was in both eyes for me. Something similar I experienced in Fallen Doll was that when they added the UE dynamic hair in that it also presented only in one eye when using the high end simulation setting.
Other than that the only other issues I found were some lens distortion effects that occured during first person cutscenes that were a bit difficult to stomach. Worth changing to 2D screen mode or pushing through as they are brief. Even with everything medium and DLSS performance was pretty rough in some cinematics but gameplay was perfectly fine for the most part. Maybe dial in some headway for parts further down the line.
UObjectHook made the game crash as well so couldn't tinker with any first person stuff. I change the UI to curved later in the video so if you wonder why the UI is not there it is just the OBS OpenXR plugin I use that doesn't capture it but is visible to me just fine.

Testing this, an older version of Dakar Desert Rally which has a lot more problems (synched, performance issues) and this is a much more fun and fulfilling experience in VR. Only small niggles I found, the main one being what I believe is the helicopter lens cam effect seems prevalent on the outer edges of your view, and tracks with your head. Discovered you can disable it entirely with Shadows set to low.
Otherwise everything on cinematic the performance was great with only very minor things in one eye that I noticed like your driver's suit AO. First person cockpit was very fun and even third person (I played with a tiny world scale) was very satisfying. Picked up on a very deep sale this is a fun time.

Works perfectly, really fun cross between a third person action game with some small side scrolling segments. The ultimate you use quite a bit is L3+R3 so once I had my settings dialled in at the start I disabled that shortcut for the UEVR menu.
The side scrolling sections have an annoying letterbox effect but didn't annoy me enough to bother looking in to disabling it. Performance is really good and the art style is really crisp in the headset.
Cool gameplay loop with upgrades and skill unlocks like a mix between Devil May Cry and a Lego game. Played with decoupled pitch on with the adjusted UI, as lock on in many of these third person combat games will make you look down when that occurs. So that smooth it out completely.
Pretty cool deck building card game built around managing a potion shop. Very cute art and animations, similar to those uncanny DreamWorks and Disney cosplayers who AI match themselves into scenes. Some environments have quite a lot of 2D art plastered everywhere you aren't supposed to see but still very charming. Found just really requires one offset closer to the action for pretty much every scene. Mouse only gameplay as no controller support surprisingly. Runs really well but not surprising with how much is actually rendered and how most of the gameplay is via the 2D menus.
