I worked this poncho using chunky yarn (Bernat Softee Chunky), or you could use 2 strands of ww yarn, and a 9 mm hook. (A lightweight poncho can be made working with 1 strand of ww yarn and a 6 mm hook.)
It works up very quickly with a 2 row repeat of the PEBBLE STITCH, and the collar is worked with the MOSS STITCH. Make this sweater poncho in any size. Easy enough for beginners. The sleeves can be worked straight or tapered.
YARN REQUIREMENTS:
Chunky yarn (Bernat Softee Chunky), 9 mm hook
S: chest: 30-34”, 19” long: with collar and sleeves: 1030 yds (collar: 130 yds; sleeves: 350 yds; body: 550 yds)
M: chest: 36-40”, 20” long: with collar and sleeves: 1160 yds (collar: 160 yds; sleeves: 400 yds; body: 600 yds)
L: chest 44-48”, 23” long: with collar and sleeves: 2200 yds (collar: 170 yds; sleeves: 500 yds; body (700 yds)\
XL: chest 50-54”, 23 “ long: with collar and sleeves: 2200 yds: (collar: 200 yds; sleeves:900 yds; body: 1100 yds)
2XL: chest: 54-58”, 23” long with collar and sleeves: 2300 yds (collar: 200 yds; sleeves: 950 yds; body: 1150 yds)
3XL: chest 58-62”, 23 inches long with collar and sleeves: 2450 yds (collar 200 yds, sleeves: 1000 yds, body 1200 yds)
2 STRANDS OF WW YARN AND 9 MM HOOK, DOUBLE yarn amounts as above.
