Are the reversal of typical gender roles in some birds possible to explain as the result of sexual selection theory or can they only be explained by fiat design? I think through this question a bit while looking at a creation.com article on the unusual male behavior in some (and some is important here) Jacana bird species. The author of the article believes that the high rate of male jacanas raising unrelated offspring "confounds the evolutionary view." However, this phenomenon is well-documented in biological literature and has been explained through concepts like sexual conflict and trade-offs in mating strategies.
