During BYU's Walk of Life and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration, students were inspired to create a better world than the one currently before them. BYU social work professor Sherinah Saasa said that the faith and courage of those who came before allow us to have a better life today, but it will take additional effort, truth and courage on our part. "Through Jesus Christ, who exemplifies ultimate love and redemption, ashes can be turned into beauty, brokenness into strength, reminding us that even the harshest realities can be transformed for His greater purpose."
The Walk of Life and Commemoration, which honors the legacy and teachings of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., has been an annual tradition at BYU for more than 25 years.
