Watch what happens when, LIVE ONSTAGE the world's greatest percussionist is given the world's craziest challenge - to play SLEEPING BEAUTY on household objects, alongside Rainer Hersch & his Orkestra.
THIS CLIP
Live on stage, comedian and conductor Rainer Hersch leads star soloist Dame Evelyn Glennie to an instrument that he has constructed for her to play made out of household objects. On the spot, Evelyn performs the waltz from SLEEPING BEAUTY by Tchaikovsky accompanied by the Rainer Hersch Orkestra. A stunt only ever previously attempted by Spike Jones, the American musician, bandleader and conductor.
This concert was performed at the Cadogan Hall, Saturday 1st April 2023.

Solo percussionist and composer Dame Evelyn Glennie is a double GRAMMY winner, BAFTA nominee, recipient of the Polar Music Prize, the LΓ©onie Sonning Music Prize and the Companion of Honour. Evelyn performed at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in London 2012, leading a thousand drummers in the opening piece of music.
