COVID-19 shut down most schools in Sierra Leone, negatively impacting girls’ education. For girls about to graduate high school, they couldn’t take their exams to receive their diplomas -- which prevented them from applying for better jobs or college. As a result, girls found it challenging to find work to help their families. That’s when Haja Bangura had an idea. She established the Grafton Girl Entrepreneurs Initiative to help girls financially support their families.
