A quick look at the creation and release of the movie John Carter (2012) widely considered to be one of the biggest box office bombs off all time. The movie was based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' book - The Princess of Mars - which launched his wildly successful Barsoom series. It is also considered the inspiration for a large number of science fiction titles including Avatar, Dune and Star Wars.
The video also proposes a number of ways in which the budget could have been cut and the box office returns increased. Could John Carter have been fixed enough that it actually turned a profit?
