In this video I take a CSV (comma-separated values) file from NOAA that contains a database of all the hurricanes/tropical storms that were tracked by NOAA. The file is brought into Excel and then a tool called Text to Column is used to separate the values into separate columns. Then a sheet is prepared that can be brought into a GIS.
