Alright, this boss is basically two bosses with two different speeds and it's really hard to keep it straight in your head. In phase 1, there are some attacks you can follow up on with the quick gift, but not the case in phase 2. He can follow up so quickly, and he strings combos together for much longer attacks than in phase 1. Really, it's good to do some damage, but your focus should be dodging and surviving. You can't do much damage here.
The parry I go for I used to always do for that combo, but I realized if I dodged to the side, like my instincts always have me do, I will miss the parry, and thus get hit. So I only went for the parry if I was confident in my positioning. Phase 2 is the only time I felt it was worth it. It wastes time for his buff which is the main goal.
