This is an incomplete playthrough as I missed about an hour of footage after 2.5 hours in. Unfortunately, they were all the real headscratcher puzzles too. The first hour is also sub-par due to me forgetting to change the bit rate to account for 4K recording as my prior recording was in 1080p. Apologies for the mess up.
Review - This is a game made by the creator of Limbo and Inside so I knew it would be good. The game involves a single concept of carrying an orb to trigger switches and puzzles, but the orbs contain a world inside them so you can teleport into them and also bring in other orbs that you have collected to eventually a total of 4. It doesn’t sound too complicated but it becomes wonderfully complex in the later game. The first half of the game is very easy and doesn’t require much thought but it’s just so beautiful to look at and it’s just an experience to soak in the atmosphere. It’s such a surreal alien world. The later half is when it picks up in puzzle difficulty and I was constantly in aww of the complexity of the puzzles and admiring how clever they are. The feeling great accomplishment after some of the real head scratchers is great.
The entire game is short, around 5 hours, but I think that is perfect. I really love how the game is just a game throughout. No cut-scenes, story, text, or tutorials. You just start and soon work out that you only need one button for the entire game.
It’s a really easy-going game and you can’t even die on the bosses. The difficulty only comes with the puzzles, although there are couple of sections which require a bit of dexterity.
It’s wonderfully simple and complex at the same time. A real joy to play.
