A Gin and Tonic is a highball cocktail made with gin and tonic water poured over ice. It is usually garnished with a slice or wedge of lime, I used juniper berries and orange slices in this version.
My Gin and Tonic recipe: 2oz Dingle award winning Gin Small hand full of juniper berries 2 slices of orange 4oz of aromatic tonic water
History: The cocktail was introduced by the army of the British East India Company. To make a long story short each soldier received a ration of Gin (which is made from Genever the Dutch word for Juniper) for moral boosting and courage hence the term Dutch courage. Tonic which includes quinine and was at the time used as a cure for malaria, and lastly Lime which was used to prevent Scurvy.

Here is the recipe for the Whiskey Sour:
1.5 oz bourbon 1 oz fresh lemon juice .5oz of sugar syrup Garnished with a cherry and orange slice Served in an old fashioned glass
Directions: Pour all of the ingredients into a shaker add ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into an old fashioned glass over ice. For the best tasting cocktail do not substitute lemon juice and sugar for the bottled version sour mix this is only sure to disappoint.
The #WhiskeySour is one of the most famous classic cocktails of all time, withstanding the effects of prohibition which took many other classics. The first mention of the Whiskey Sour can be dated back to the 1860’s but most believe that the sour existed long before this time, some dating it as far back as the 1700s.

Caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail, made with cachaça (sugarcane hard liquor), sugar, and lime. Cachaça, also known as caninha, or any one of a multitude of traditional names, it is Brazil's most common distilled alcoholic beverage. Although both rum and cachaça are made from sugarcane-derived products, in cachaça the alcohol results from the fermentation of fresh sugarcane juice that is then distilled, while rum is usually made from refinery by-products such as molasses.
The drink is prepared by mixing the fruit and the sugar together, and adding the liquor. This can be made into a single glass, usually large, that can be shared amongst people, or into a larger jar, from which it is served in individual glasses.
Ingredients that I used for my Caipirinha: 1/2 of a Lime wedged 3 Strawberry’s diced Fresh Basil 2oz of cachaca
