The setup: an agent receives an email saying its container is in policy violation and has to upgrade Go. Two things happen. The agent refuses to execute the emailed instruction (good). Then it notices the instruction itself is nonsense - the version of Go in the policy correction doesn’t exist. An earlier Claude session had hallucinated it. “Sorry, I made that up” is now a real conversation.
