Perfect for Mardi Gras, Carnaval, or a masquerade themed party!
Start with simple shapes and lines. The mask itself is essentially an upside down egg shape. Keep the lines for the eye holes, nose, and lips as simple as possible so there will be plenty of room on the mask to add elaborate designs later. The rose affixed to the side of the mask begins as a circle, and the feathers sprouting out from the side of the rose begin as loosely drawn curved lines. Once all of these shapes and lines are in place, you can go back to add more complex details such as the blooming rose petals and wispy textures of the feathers.
This design is a more advanced style than the first mask drawing tutorial; that being said, anyone is welcome to try! Have fun and keep practicing!
**Lot's of "uh's", poor grammar, and talk of random things. Also improvised my missing eraser dilemma into a brief "unboxing" of a spare I had left on my desk (pretty clever, eh?). This video is also much longer than those I've uploaded in the past, as it is a completely unfiltered recording of the drawing from start to finish. Editing takes a significant amount of time and effort, so for now I've chosen to forego the process in order to create more content on a regular basis instead of sporadic uploads of neatly packaged content as I have done in the past. Keeping it real, y'all!
We live close to Redstone Arsenal and they like to test things that go "boom", which can get loud and shakes the house. They did it again today while I was recording, hence my reactions and mimicking explosion sounds towards the end. Yeah, I'm weird like that. Guest artist Richard shows you how to draw a simple guitar from both the front perspective and at an angle. Use a ruler to help make straight lines.
For the front view, draw the body of the guitar by making a gourd shape. Draw a circle for the hole and two small rectangles in the middle for where the strings will attach. Next draw the neck--make sure to taper it a little bit towards the top. Draw a trapezoid on top of the neck of the guitar, and add little circles for where the strings attach.
Use the same shapes and distort them a little as shown by Richard to make the guitar appear to lay on it's side at an angle. Outline your pencil lines with a pen or sharpie marker (white out pen can be used to fix mistakes). Embellish your guitar with flames, hearts, flowers, rainbows, or whatever you choose!

Erase and finesse the original circle until it is rounded to your liking and barely visible. Trace the faint circle with an orange marker or colored pencil. Next fill in the rest of your sun with a bright, cheerful yellow! Color the sunglasses. Blend a golden yellow marker/pencil alongside the outside of the orange circle into the bright yellow flames. When you've got a basic figure down then you can start doing more intricate details on your character such as the face and clothes. Sketching is one of the most important stages of the drawing! When you fee like you've completed your sketch then you can start with the outlining process! Try taking careful strokes when outlining and inking the character. On the outside lines of the character try a thicker outline and the inside lines thinner to make the character really pop! Happy Drawing!Learn How to Draw Easy Pumpkins iCanHazDraw!iCanHazDraw2013-10-15 | Autumn is here! Time for cooler weather, holiday celebrations, and PUMPKINS! Use this pumpkin design to embellish stationary, wrapping paper, or create your very own pumpkin patch on paper!
In this lesson, Cheri shows you step by step how to create two different pumpkins, using some simple shapes and different shades of orange markers. First, draw a circle or oval shape. Exaggerate it as much as you like or keep it simple. Intersect your pumpkin with vertical ovals. Overlap them to give the pumpkin 'ribs' and create the illusion of three-dimension. Draw the stem and add a curly tendril or two. Outline your drawing with an ink pen or sharpie marker. Erase the pencil lines to leave a clean black and white illustration.
To color, pick a light shade and a dark shade of orange and your favorite green. Fill in your pumpkin with the lighter orange then color the stem and tendril(s) green. With the darker orange, color the shadows on the bottom of the pumpkin and in the crevices where the ribs of the pumpkin meet. With a light blue marker, pencil, or crayon, create a small shadow under the pumpkin. You can color a little dark blue or black directly under the pumpkin to create more contrast. Sign your drawing and you're done!Learn How to Draw a Cute Monkey Face iCanHazDraw!iCanHazDraw2013-09-30 | Cheri has gotten a lot of requests by both her students and subscribers from HowToDrawAndPaint to draw a monkey.
