Lancaster, PA - road rage with attempted physical aggression! @kissmykitty

❗06/03/2025 UPDATE: The aggressor and her male passenger have been positively identified, and a report has been filed with the West Earl police department. Charges of harassment and disorderly conduct will be forthcoming, and there is a possibility of additional charges because the aggressor has a young child in the backseat of her vehicle.

The probation office has also been notified, and this morning they confirmed they forwarded the information to her assigned probation officer.

FYI, the perpetrator has an extensive criminal history and charges, including aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, and she also assaulted a police officer. This is someone who clearly needs to be reminded that it is NOT okay to aggressively tailgate and stalk someone or attempt to physically assault them!

A deranged woman and her male passenger took offense at my daughter preventing them from cutting in front of her on 222 southbound, where the left lane was closed and all traffic had to merge to the right. In response, they tailgated her on the highway, followed her off an exit (not her planned exit), then, when traffic stopped at a red light, the woman GOT OUT OF HER VEHICLE and attempted to approach my daughter on the driver's side of her car, presumably to attempt to physically assault her.

My daughter was able to get away (the light turned green), but that didn't stop the woman from attempting to follow her for another three miles. Fortunately my daughter was driving her dad's vehicle, which is a very fast, very lightweight electric car, so she was able to use high speeds (60+ mph) and tight turns on deserted back roads to put sufficient distance between herself and the aggressors and ultimately get away. But until then, she was being followed by the aggressors for over three miles, and the fact that the female aggressor attempted to approach my daughter, who is only 20 years old, petite of build, and was by herself (it seemed like the male passenger was checking to confirm my daughter was alone before the female driver got out), suggests she had physical violence in mind. While we keep pepper spray and a pocket knife in all vehicles, my daughter thought it best to simply de-escalate by leaving, especially since she was alone and being chased by two people - so that is what she did.

➡️ WHEN: June 1, 2025, approximately 8:00-8:05pm

➡️ LOCATION: this happened on 222 southbound in Lancaster county, about a mile before the Oregon Pike (272) exit. Note there was what looks to be a young child in the backseat of the aggressor's vehicle - what kind of parent/caregiver chases down a young female with a child in tow?!

➡️ VEHICLE: newer model black Ford Explorer SUV

➡️ DRIVER: the woman appears to be mid-to-late 20s, white (or maybe Hispanic/white mixed?) with dark brown roots and blonde ends, slim build, and she might have a tattoo on the right and possibly left side of her neck. She had a 2025 Pennsylvania-issued fishing license affixed to her hip, so presumably both individuals fish.

➡️ PASSENGER: the man appears to be mid-to-late 20s/early 30s, white with dark brown hair and close-cut facial hair (moustache and goatee).

Fixing a Blinking (white light) Nanoleaf Controller and/or Nanoleaf Panel (moisture damage?)

kissmykitty 2023-07-02 | If you suddenly experience a Nanoleaf panel turning a dim green, blinking green in time with the Nanoleaf Controller's power button blinking white, and/or your entire set of connected Panels stops working, the culprit may be moisture damage to the rear of one or more Panels.

Unfortunately you'll have to take all of your Panels apart and connect them one by one - but of course look for visible signs of moisture damage (green/blue gunk built up around metal contacts) to help you find the source(s).

This solution fixed my Panels, though unfortunately the set is now missing two. Lesson learned: be more careful with watering houseplants. (:

In Memory of Fern

kissmykitty 2023-03-26 | Fern came to us when he was just two weeks old. Alyssa and I raised him with the intention of adopting him out, but Alyssa fell in love with Fern, and he with her.

February/March 2023: We discovered Fern had hypothyroidism. We started treatment right away, and his symptoms improved, and he even hit a growth spurt and started purring and playing (two things he had never done prior).

Sadly, on March 21, 2023, we discovered Fern had Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a mostly-deadly disease that comes from mutated genes after a cat contracts feline coronavirus. While almost every cat (outdoors) comes into contact with feline coronavirus, the mutation to FIP is uncommon - but still, it happens.

We started FIP treatment that same evening, and during the very early morning hours of March 23rd, 2023 a local veterinarian's office drained a whopping 70ml of fluid from Fern's chest and abdomen. Sadly, Fern's heart wasn't strong enough (due to the hypothyroidism), and he passed away in his sleep around 9:00am that same morning.

Fern was loved, and so loving. Alyssa calls him her soulmate. His loss has devastated us. Fern will forever be loved, our memories cherished, and he'll never be forgotten. He touched the heart of every hooman he met, and he really, really, REALLY loved his mommy, Alyssa.

Rest in purrs, Baby Fern. Your battle is over.
You were adored, cherished, and loved. Your life mattered, and we will never forget the time we had with you.
