I'm back to address the misleading claims being spread by young-earth creationists about the recent great ape genome sequencing study. In this video, I break down why their shocking "15% difference" claim between humans and chimps is a classic example of cherry-picking data without providing crucial context.
Using two simple comparison charts, I demonstrate why this isn't the earth-shaking discovery that Answers in Genesis, ICR, and other creationist organizations are claiming it to be. The problem isn't the data itself - it's how they're presenting it to their audiences without explaining what these percentages actually mean in context.

The bottom line: When you do proper apples-to-apples comparisons using the same methodology, you discover that some individual humans can differ by large amount using this same calculation method, while chimps and bonobos (which even Ken Ham accepts as sharing common ancestry) differ by a large %. Suddenly that 15% human-chimp difference doesn't seem quite so shocking, does it?
