Level up your puppet with eyelids, head turns, subtle breathing/jaw motion, and an auto Walk cycle.
We add eyelids in Photoshop, wire them in Character Animator, create multi-view heads (front/¾/side) with Head Turner or a Swap Set, try Breathe & Nutcracker Jaw, then tag the body for Walk.
What you’ll learn
-Add eyelids in PSD, place in the correct eye groups, and tag Top/Bottom lids
-Build head turns (front / ¾ / side), tag views, and add Head Turner behavior
-Alternative: drive head views with a Swap Set (e.g., keys 0/9)
-Breathe behavior on the torso: subtle idle motion & parameter tuning
-Nutcracker Jaw on the head: handle placement & audio/camera flappiness
-Tag body handles (neck/waist/hip, wrists/elbows, knees/ankles/heels/toes)
-Make legs independent, attach origins, and enable the Walk behavior
-Fine-tune Walk: start/stop, style, stride length, speed, arm swing, toe bend & strength

About this series
Recorded in 2018 and well-reviewed on Udemy. I’m archiving it here because the fundamentals still help. I add update notes where tools changed and link to a refreshed 2023 version.
