CERN is trying to open another dimension — or at least that's what the internet believes about the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). With CERN now shut down until 2030, rumors about CERN opening a portal to another dimension, hidden extra dimensions, black holes, and parallel worlds are everywhere. But what is CERN actually doing with extra dimensions at the LHC in Geneva, Switzerland? In Part 1 of the CERN Series, I explain it the simplest way possible — with a stickman, a piece of paper, and one idea that changes how you see reality.
