NicoleHerrickDIY 2023-12-30 | Changing your wiper blades on your car is easy. You can choose to replace both the metal and rubber part, or just the rubber part (which is much cheaper). All you need to do is flip your wiper over so the rubber is facing you. Then grab hold of the end of the rubber and pull it out. Now insert your new wiper blade making sure you go through each of the alignment channels. Then you may need to cut off the excess rubber and metal strips. For the metal strips, do each separately. Hold the end with pliers just before a bend and snap point closest to the end of your blade track. Bend up and down until it snaps off. Do the same for the other metal strip. For the rubber you can use heavy duty scissors or a box cutter. Flip the wiper back over and you’re done!

NicoleHerrickDIY 2023-12-02 | Let me show you how to build an easy pergola or DIY patio cover. I bought a brackets kit from https://outmos.com.au/ then purchased the timber to suit the size i wanted to make. I cut everything to size myself but you can get it cut wherever you buy it. I added a sheet metal roof and used angle flashing at one end and infill foam to stop the rain coming off the front edge. It all flows off the back edge into the garden. You will need 2 to 3 people to build this in just a couple of days.

The other areas of the clinic were transformed to a very clean, white modern aesthetic so this black powder room was a real risk. It’s safe to say from her reaction that she absolutely loves it. Such a surprising twist when her clients use the room. The dark walls, vintage art and gold fixtures brings warmth and cosiness to the space.

How to mount a tv on a wall with no studs

If you need to know how to mount a tv on a wall with no studs, here is your answer. Toggle Bolts! TV wall mount installation is fairly easy but sometimes there are no studs to screw into. To install a tv bracket on a drywall or plasterboard wall without studs, all you need to do it use toggle bolts. The toggle bolts replace the screws that go into the wall. You need to drill a hole wide enough for the toggles to slip through. Then the toggle wing opens up inside the wall and you screw it in to tighten the wing against the wall. Toggle bolts come in varying sizes and can hold different weights.

TV mounts come in 3 types, fixed, tilt and full motion. To determine the mounting bracket you need, measure the distance between the screw holes on your tv and also weigh your tv. With these measurements, you'll be able to find a tv mount that works for your tv. They come with a lot of different screws, spacers and washers that you can pick and choose from to fit various types of tvs. You only need to use the parts that fit your tv. Most of them also come with a mini spirit level to make sure you get it straight.

The mounting plates are adjustable and give you plenty of options of holes to make sure you can place the according to your studs or by using toggle bolts for walls without studs. You can also mount them on to cement, brick and solid plaster walls by purchasing the right anchors.

Lemon Meringue Pie Cupcakes #shorts #cupcakes

NicoleHerrickDIY 2023-03-09 | Lemon Meringue Pie Cupcakes

Cupcake ingredients:
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 cup white sugar
½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 lemon
½ cup plain, natural or Greek yogurt
1 tsp vanilla extract or paste
1 ½ cups plain flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Meringue topping ingredients:
3 eggs
1/2 tsp Cream of Tartar
1/2 cup caster sugar

1 jar of lemon curd for filling

METHOD
Preheat oven to 180°c (fan forced)
Line a 12 cup muffin pan with cupcake liners.
In a bowl, combine plain flour, baking powder and salt and whisk to combine.
In a separate glass bowl, add the eggs and whisk until fluffy (about 1 minute).
Slowly add in the sugar until the mix is creamy.
Whilst whisking, add in the melted butter followed by the lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract or paste and yogurt until combined.
Add half of the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and fold. Then add in the rest and whisk on low until just combined. The batter will be thin.
Pour into cupcake liners, each about 2/3 full.
Bake at 180°c for approx 22 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
Remove from pan and let cool on wire rack.
Once cool, use a knife to cut a chunk out of each cupcake, then fill with 1 teaspoon of lemon curd.

For meringue topping.
Preheat oven to 150°c use top heating element if available and turn off bottom.
In a very clean glass or metal bowl, whisk the eggs until soft peaks form.
Add the Cream of Tartar then start whisking again and slowly add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time. Whisk on high until stiff peaks form.
Dollop or pipe on to the top of the cupcakes then add to the oven for 1-6 minutes. Keep a very close eye on them so they don’t burn.

This campaign is close to my heart as The Black Dog Institutes website is actually the first place I was able to find help for my mental health issues many years ago. Their website helped me understand what was going on in my brain, that it was quite common, treatable and most importantly, where to get treatment and further help.

60% of those struggling with mental health issues don’t seek help. By me sharing my mental health journey and doing something “crazy” to raise awareness, it might just encourage someone else to seek help.

If your mitre saw rails are not sliding properly or you have a squeaky mitre saw or if your mitre saw wont lift up, this will show you how to fix.

We start by cleaning the mitre saw.
Step 1: Remove dust collection bag or hose
Step 2: Blow off all sawdust, you can use a leaf blower or air can
Step 3: wipe down the whole saw with a dry microfibre cloth
Step 4: Spray regular WD 40 on the rails and let that sit for 1 minute
Step 5: Clean off the WD40. If you have any rust or corrosion, use a scrub pad or steel wool to scrub the rails adding more WD40 as needed
Step 6: Clean down the rails and the whole machine with grease remover
Step 7: Spray dry lubricant on the rails, arm pivot, bevel pivot, mitre pivot and outer blade centre. Pump / rotate each of the points around 10 times to get them well lubricated.

The best dry lube to use is a spry on graphite or PTFE based dry lubricant. Some people do use silicone based dry lubricants however the first 2 mentioned are the most recommended.

ABOUT THE FABRICS NEEDED

PUL (Polyurethane Lamination waterproof fabric) - Sorry i called it PU in the video but it's PUL that you need. Ripstop nylon is NOT suitable. PUL should be very thin and very soft and shiny on one side, matte on the other. It does not make any sound when crinkled.

Bamboo French Terry comes in varying thicknesses called gsm. In the video I talked about layers, but please use the gsm suggestions below as a guide instead.

1 Layer 250gsm - Light bladder leakage & regular gusher
1 Layer 340gsm - Heavy gusher / overnight pad
1 Layer 400gsm - Super heavy gusher & post partum

If you can only find the thinner 200-250gsm, you can use more layers up to make it up to 800gsm max. NEVER exceed 800gsm as the fabric will be too thick to dry correctly and can cause mold.

Everyone's flow is different. Bamboo French Terry holds a lot more liquid than you might think, so don’t be tempted to start with 800gsm if you have a heavy flow. Try making a 400gsm first and see how you go.

My backyard was looking very messy and we never used it. We wanted to create a relaxing and inviting backyard oasis that looked good and functioned well in our tiny townhouse garden. But instead of spending thousands of dollars on the latest modern outdoor furniture, plants and landscaping supplies, i decided to use TRASH to turn my garden into a place that felt like a holiday.

We found 5 rolls of free reed screen fencing in the hard rubbish piles. A quick lick of cheap decking oil and it looked great again. It turned our ugly metal fence into a much more tropical, warm and textural fence. I then found some free shade cloth fabric and used it to make a vertical garden. I simply cut it in to strips and folded the strips to make pockets, then sewed down the sides. I purchased some horticultural felt and made individual pockets for each plant to sit in to keep them moist and allow water to be saved for future use by the plants.

Most of our plants we had accumulated over the years just by getting cuttings from family, friends and neighbours. We also often find free plants on gumtree and marketplace and even out on the curb for anyone to take. Whilst i already had installed some faux grass, this was also a cheap purchase as it was second hand, saving me hundreds of dollars as faux turf can be super expensive.

For the outdoor furniture, i found a second hand Ikea futon frame for $30. I used a couple of $20 pine sleepers from Bunnings, a free mattress and some waterproof outdoor fabric to create a simple yet modern outdoor sofa that you would never know wasn't purchased from a store. I also found a cheap single seater frame ($35) and coffee table ($20) in the same shape profile as the lounge, sanded them back and stained everything the same colour to make them look like a cohesive outdoor furniture set. A few cheap throw pillows from Kmart turned it in to a super comfortable outdoor space.

In the Australian heat we need sun protection. I found this modern shade sail for just $50 at Bunnings and used $30 worth of fixing to put it up. It not only keeps the sun off but also keep a fair amount of rain off the furniture, even though it is a waterproofed.

All up i spent around $600 to make this space in to an outdoor oasis.

DIY Bone Inlay Furniture Flip - Using a Cricut to make your own furniture stencils!

In this video i will show you how i turned the free sideboard in to a beautiful piece on bone inlay style furniture. I used my Cricut Maker to create my own custom stencils. I show you how to sand and paint the furniture wit the base coat ready for stencilling. You could also do this with ikea furniture for a great Ikea hack!

I then show you how i created the custom stencils in Cricut Design Space and show you the leaf motif i used to create all the leaf swirls as well as how i created the borders and made the design work for each drawer front, door and panel of the furniture. This method is so easy to adjust to fit your own pieces of furniture. ** Leaf motif code is #M2612E67A **

I then show you some tips on applying the stencil to painted wood and what paints i used to get a pearlescent finish.

You will then see a fun little timelapse montage of me adding the pretty gold semi circle handles, making a new base to replace the old legs, whipping up a quick modern wall art piece using joint compound and styling.
