In previous videos we have examined a variety of vintage heat and smoke-activated home fire alarms. However, fires also produce another, more insidious combustion product: carbon monoxide. Starting in the 1980s, a number of different sensor technologies have been developed to detect this invisible killer, including electrochemical, biomimetic, infrared, and semiconductor types.
