In this video, we take a closer look at SilverSilk’s Capture Chain—a signature knitted wire jewelry chain designed for strength, structure, and versatility. Capture Chain is made by knitting six strands of 32-gauge, enameled copper wire around a sturdy ball chain core. The result is a 2.5mm diameter chain with a beautiful metallic sheen and just enough flexibility to use in both simple and complex designs.
Capture Chain is soft, strong, and easy to manipulate. It holds its shape well, making it a great foundation for wire wrapping, bead stitching, loom work, or simply stringing with a pendant or focal bead. You can even sew directly through the open knits or weave around the outer wire layer for added detail and texture.
To finish the ends, we offer custom-designed end caps that fit the Capture Chain perfectly. These findings are cast with an internal groove that grips onto the chain's ball core—no glue required—just crimp shut with pliers for a clean, professional finish.
