Can N64 flash carts actually save reliably on the Analogue 3D?
In this episode of Game Closet, Doctor Scott puts the Summer Cart 64 through real-world save stability testing across all three official Nintendo 64 save formats:
• EEPROM (Super Mario 64)
• SRAM (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
• FlashRAM (Resident Evil 2)
Each test includes full power-cycle verification — the exact scenario where flash carts most often fail over time.
But we didn’t stop there.
To push things further, the Summer Cart 64 was tested under extreme load using:
• Perfect Dark (4-player simulants + Unleashed overclock)
• Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
• Army Men: Air Combat
These scenarios stress memory bandwidth, streaming behavior, and long-session reliability on the Analogue 3D’s FPGA-based N64 hardware.
If you’re considering a Summer Cart 64 — or wondering whether flash carts truly behave like original cartridges on Analogue 3D — this test gives you a clear answer.

![My 7-Year-Old Took Over My Channel and It Was Better Than My Videos
I was unavailable. Duct tape was involved. The details are classified.
While I was indisposed at the 2025 Cleveland Gaming Classic, my daughter Harleyfractic — age 8, future hand model, known associate of an extremely opinionated rabbit — took over the Game Closet microphone and started interviewing people.
Her question: What game did you play as a kid that youd recommend for me?
She asked seven YouTube creators. Got seven answers. Delivered a final verdict at the end that I was not prepared for.
She also exposed me on camera for using AI to beat video games. I have no comment on that at this time.
Featuring Gamer Ahmer, Game Dad, Brian from Retro Trade, Square Pegs, Mintendo Land, Izzy Dojo, and one extremely authentic 1990s Pizza Hut experience that nobody planned.
Featuring:
@Harleyfractics_Hideout
@GamerAhmer
@thetechbuzz
@KrisCarlsonYT
@RetroTrade
@SquarePegs
@mintendoland
