Six months after Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson home, the case remains unsolved.
The 84-year-old mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie is still missing. No arrests have been made.In a major update, authorities have now released the full text of the early ransom notes — one demanding millions in Bitcoin, the other claiming she had already died and was "buried in nature".
Sheriff Chris Nanos says the investigation is still very active, with DNA and video evidence continuing to be processed.
Case background: Nancy is the 84-year-old mother of NBC Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing from her home in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson, Arizona, on February 1st, 2026. She was last seen by family members at her residence around 9.30–9.45 PM on January 31st, 2026. Her son-in-law had brought her home, where she lives alone. The next morning, when she failed to attend church, family checked on her, discovered her missing, and reported it to the Pima County Sheriff's Department around noon.
