CALYREX SHADOW & ZAMAZENTA ARE STILL AMAZING IN REG J | 2026 VGC
Greetings from New Zealand! (At least when this is uploaded. Right now I'm in my office.) Today I will be seeing if the tried and true CSR/Zama core is till good in Regulation J. Let's take a look.
This team is standard, so I won't spend too much time on the explanation. Life Orb Calyrex Shadow Rider with Nasty Plot dishes an insane amount of damage. This one is Tera Dark to help against Opposing CSR & stop Prankster shenanigans. You partner it with Focus Sash Smeargle, which can decorate or spore if it gets a Moody Speed Boost. The other Restricted is Zamazenta, which has Wide Guard support for CSR and threatens the normal and dark types that hamper Calyrex.
Tornadus provides speed control with Tailwind but can also be an offensive force if you Decorate before going for Bleakwind Storm. Rillaboom offers Terrain Control, Fake Out support, and priority through Grassy Glide. Finally, Ogerpon also have Follow Me and priority, which helps it complete the team.
