Fortress Solar Security Camera Compatible with Alexa Grandpa Jake 2022-05-20 | I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and features that this camera offers. It can be as basic as you want or give you abilities that will enhance your security along with being compatible with Alexa. It is designed to use the power of the sun to keep it charged so you don’t need to change batteries or bring it in to charge. I had this outside for about 5 days using it often and it is still showing 100% which is great! If you have Wi-Fi you can remotely view the video and the captured clips and even download and share them with others. There are some in app subscriptions should you want even more abilities or just use it as it comes to you. The setup is fast and easy once you install the free VicoHome app. Make sure you set your phone or smart device to your 2.4gh during the setup. Once that is completed you can change your phone back to what you were using. The reason for 2.4 is that it has a longer distance and more stable signal for this type of device. I have been very happy with the quality of the videos and how well it picks up movement. You could also if needed place this in a location away from Wi-Fi and use the Micro SD card to capture movement, and when you come to check the camera you can take it out and view everything. It does a great job at capturing at night as well as during the day. You have the ability to view 360 Degrees along with up and down viewing. The support that I received from Fortress and VicoHome was great. My questions were answered within a day or sooner which makes me more comfortable with my purchase. The Amazing HS720G Drone From Holy Stone Grandpa Jake 2022-04-20 | The Holy Stone HS720G drone is one of the nicest drones that I have flown. My family has purchased a few of the Holy Stone drones over the years, and I must say Holy Stone has put a lot of thought into developing the HS720G which I feel is the best so far. If you are new to flying or have a younger child, you can adjust the maximum height it can fly, the distance away, and what they call return to home height which should be set to a bit higher altitude than anything in your flying area. The flight time is over 20 minutes which should be plenty of time to do most things. There are many other features in this app allowing you to do Waypoints, Point of interest, follow me and much more. You have the ability to limit the speed by the press of a button which can make it easier for the beginner or press it again which will give it much faster speed. Holy Stone provides a very nice case to keep it safe when not using it along with spare props and even some extra screws. The GPS is very good and gives the drone amazing stability and accuracy while flying. I tried in my review to make it easier to get started with your first flight. NZXT Amazing Support Grandpa Jake 2021-10-14 | If you are looking to purchase or build a PC you need to look at NZXT. It has some of the best support and that will be something that you will appreciate for a long time. I decided to build this Gaming PC and as my video talks about I was given support before even buying the components, but most of all getting the support and help along the way as I was assembling the system. Holy Stone HS340 Drone Grandpa Jake 2021-05-09 | At the end of this you will see a code Holy Stone gave me that will discount the HS340 :-) So if you are looking to learn how to fly a drone or give a gift to someone, I think this Drone would be a great place to start. What makes it nice is the Altitude Hold. When you take of inside or outside the Drone will try to maintain it's height above the ground. I found the HS340 to be a lot of fun inside the house as it can turn on a dime and maneuvers very well. It comes with some prop protectors so if you are flying inside it will help save a broken prop. They do give you extras just in case :-) but for the most part being so light usually keeps it from major damage. At the end of my video you will see some photos taken from the HS340 along with a few video clips. It has an amazing camera for something this small, and when you are flying it you can also view the video live right from your phone. It can be flown in a calm way or click the button a few times and it can race around and bank the turns. Flips, Spins, and circles are all possible with just a touch of a button. And once you get used to flying you can do a toss in the air and it will take off and wait for your commands. Holy Stone HS150 Bolt Bee Mini Racing Drone Grandpa Jake 2017-10-10 | My Grandson has been flying some of my drones for a few years and wanted to move into racing. I thought this would be the perfect choice to get him started without a huge cost. I like that it has a thumb wheel to move from basic to advance flying, or anywhere in-between. It came with 2 batteries and 2 extra sets of propellers. If you keep it at the lesser level It can be flown in the house very easily. Take it into an open area, slide the switch to performance and cruise the sky at nearly 30mph. The motors were very quiet compared to some others I have flown. One other feature that is really helpful is that when the battery starts to run low your Controller will start to beep along with the lights flashing on the racer. Foxx S911 Grandpa Jake 2017-09-07 | I thought I would start posting some of my Amazon reviews here so everyone can enjoy the products I have tested. This one is the Foxx S911 Racer from GP Toys. I put it through its paces today and it passed every one. It handles great on any surface. I had it in a parking lot, jumping over a small ramp, climbing up a hill and even going through the grass. It has so much power and speed if you need it but can also travel at a crawl. I took it down the road nearly 300 feet without any problems. I like the spring suspension which helps when making a hard turn or going over uneven surfaces. I did not have a timer to see just how long the battery would last, but I know I was way over 10 minutes and still it had more but wanted to come in to do this review. For the price I thought it was a great product that would be fun for the entire family. Hobbymate X130 Brushless Racer Grandpa Jake 2017-06-06 | I wanted to build a 130mm racer so this is the result. I have also posted the parts used in this build. I tried to dress it up a little and make sure the wires and soldering is very clean. Much harder on something this small lol :-) Anyhow it is working very well and super stable even at the higher speeds. I took some Dalprops 5045 and cut them down with a setup of a mounted motor and Dremel cutoff disc. JJRC H36 Quadcopter Grandpa Jake 2017-05-19 | This is a perfect Quadcopter for those just learning or for those looking to fly inside on a stormy day :-) The blades are protected which will keep this flying for a long time. Should one break they include spares. Make sure if you do change a blade that you match it up with the replacements. My flight time inside was just over 6 minutes, outside may be less depending on the wind and how aggressive you are flying. It has headless mode and return to home which I explain in my video. I also included a short flight at the end. Parrot DISCO With FPV Grandpa Jake 2016-10-25 | Over the last few days I have been learning and flying my new Parrot DISCO. Much different than flying a Multi-Rotor, but a lot of fun :-) it can fly for 45 minutes which give you time to do many things. I love how it looks in the sky and really fly's well. You can also do Autonomous flights reaching out to 1.2 miles. The FPV goggles work very well allowing you to feel as if you are inside looking down on the Earth !! You do need some open area to allow for landing, but the takeoff is so easy with just the push of a button and a slight toss. They have an Amazing GPS system and the controls feel great. Relish3d Gopro Camera Clip Grandpa Jake 2016-01-13 | This small clip replaces the Green clip that holds in the Gopro Camera. The great advantage of this is that you do not have to remove the camera to get the SD card out. They can be found here: http://www.rangevideo.comI do the majority of my flights with some type of goggle system and recently I had the opportunity to try the Headplay. It was a wonderful experience for many reasons. First you feel as if you are in the open sky looking down, much more so than with others goggles. The field of view is amazing to say the least. But what really draws me to this system is that it not only has the built-in 5.8Ghz receiver, but also has the ability to connect to any HDMI source.As many of you know the Parrot Bebop, 3DR Solo and some of the Dji Phantoms have an HDMI output ability. This lets you connect between the controller and the Headplay and see exactly what the Drone is seeing. It basically mirrors the screen of the smart device being used. For those of you that require reading glasses, you may want to consider ordering a low cost pair from Amazon. This will give you a very crisp and clear picture. I wear a 1.75 reading glasses, And because of the closeness of the screen you need to increase the power of your glasses when using the Headplay.
